The Hunt Building Minutes April 3, 2012 4:30 pm Regular Meeting started at 4:30 pm.- Meeting held at City Hall Room 208 In attendance: Joy Barrett, Charlie Matthews, Carolyn Mortellaro, Tammy Crisp, Frank Mellen, Cail Bellavance, Dick LaRose and Marilyn Solomon, Rosalie McQuaid, Alderman Mary Ann Melizzi-Golja. Location change from 6 Main Street to City Hall Rm 208. Secretary’s Report: Motion to accept the March 2012 secretary’s report. Motion to accept minutes made by Frank Mellen second by Dick LaRose. All in favor. Motion carries. Treasurers Report: March Statement 2012 – Total Budget $33,447 6006 Hunt Bldg. (NH Charitable) $3,495.82 Hunt Building Rental Income $2,650.00 Hunt Building Budget $11,707.26 $21,645.14 Hunt Memorial Fund $6,389.57 Ella Anderson Trust $981.00 Moose Plate Grant -0- Budget in progress for next year. Motion to accept the March 2012 Treasures Report made by Dick LaRose second by Frank Mellen . All in favor. Motion carries. Administrator’s, Correspondence and Status of Renovations/Maintenance, Events Calendar: • New April-Renovation updates-Nashua Wallpaper gave us estimates for shades $2450.00. Carolyn will get another quote for shades from Fermans. • Meeting with friends: Update: Presented modifications to the Friends of the Hunt and based on the fact that the building has changed and friends were uncomfortable with new modifications they decided to resign. Denise represented that the friends will no longer be together. All Friends of the Hunt have resigned as well as their officers. We need to establish new Friends on board with new guidelines. Trustees discussed to approach Friends of the Hunt for balance of money for the shades for the Hunt Building main room. Joy will draft a letter to Denise for funds to be given to the Hunt Building Page 1 of 3 for shades. Motion to accept letter to Friends of the Hunt for funds for the shades in the amount of $2450.00, made by Rosalie McQuaid second Cail Bellavance. All in favor. Motion carries. • Keyless entry system : Dependable Lock gave an estimate of $2445.00. Quote is for back door only. Also includes programming software. City of Nashua will pay for the keyless entry system and the installation. Carolyn Mortellaro will talk to the Risk Department to see if they will pay for the front doors as well. • Calendar of Events: Taste of downtown: we need volunteers to be at the Hunt Building, Wednesday June 6th. Volunteers are as follows: Joy Barrett, Rosalie McQuid, Tammy Crisp, Cail Bellavance, Carolyn Mortellaro, Dick LaRose. • Thursday April 26th Nashua Arts Comm. • Kentucky Derby: Cail Bellavance is up to date with plans. 200 people to date. Large screen, blue grass band, food, drink and childrens activities. Motion to accept Administrators, Correspondence and Events Report, Status of Renovations/ Maintenance: Made by Dick LaRose and second by Frank Mellen. All in favor. Motion carries. Old Business: • Name change for Hunt Building will go in front of full board for approval April 10 th. • We will be reviewing sign options from Cram & Ferguson and Creative Signs. • Will discuss at next meeting where to place the sign near building. • Motion for Carolyn Mortellaro to have Creative signs design some options for signs with pricing: Motion made by Charlie Matthews and second by Marilyn Soloman. All in favor. Motion carries. New Business: • The parking ordinances will go to infrastructure on 4/11. Will go in front of full board 4/24. Want to get handicapped parking spot in front of the ramp. • Great American downtown will be renting and moving into the Children room potentially May 1 st. • Need to replace tables, 10 in total. Carolyn Mortellaro got a price of $1,569.00 which includes shipping. • Motion made by Charlie Matthews second by Dick LaRose for up to $1,700.00 expense to order the tables. • Heating and a/c budget is currently $14,200.00 but projected estimate from the contractor are approximately $3.00 per sq. ft. or $21,525. Water shouldn't be that different. • Meri Goyette asked about the chimes. Chimes are still in storage. They should be installed in May. • Meri Goyette offered the Hunt Building the red coats. The Hunt Building will be honored to take them and store them. Thank you to Meri Goyette for her donation. • The film of the progress of the restoration of the Hunt Building is still being worked on. Still need to interview residents of the City of Nashua regarding the Hunt Building. Charlie Matthews, Joy Barrett, and Cail Bellavance will work together to finish the project.
