JOINT SPECIAL SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE TUESDAY, JULY 12,2011 ALDERMANIC CHAMBERS A meeting of the Joint Special School Building Committee was held at City Hall on Tuesday, Jnly 12,2911. Alderman Tabacsko colled the meeting to order at 7:09 p.m. Mr. Dowd led the prayer and Mr. Ryder led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Alderman Chasse, Alderman LaRose, Alderman McCarthy, Alderman Tabacsko, Alderman Vitaie, Mr. Dowd, Mr. Haas, Mr. Hallowell, Mr. Mosher, Mr. Ryder Also Present: Mr. Smith Previous Meeting Minutes Approval Alderman McCarthy moved that the previous minutes of the JSSBC meeting held June 14,2011 be accepted and placed on flic and the readings be waived. So Voted. Remarks by Chairman Alderman Tabacsko Thank you everyone for coming this evening. Committee Reports Alderman McCarthy In y our packet you'll find the minutes of the Construction Projects committee meeting from June 14lb. As we had predicted at the last JSSBC meeting, the committee did approve most of the buyouts for the bids for both Ledge Street and Fairgrounds to finish up the remaining work. We had been authorized to go ahead and do that, so those have actually proceeded. Unfortunately what we didn't do was authorize the committee to approve change orders, at least not in the amounts that were provided. So you'll see there are several change orders, including changing carpet out for VCT in several classrooms; changes to the suspended ceilings because we can't get the product we would have to replace; asbestos abatement; replacing some roofing; and additional painting. Additionally you'll see there ts a list of invoices to be paid that were paid by the committee. Alderman McCarthy moved to accept and place on file, the minutes of the Construction Projects Committee meeting held on June 29,2011 and concur with the recommendations made by the committee. So voted. Mr. Hallowell It might be handy when we have these kinds of changes come through if we had a spreadsheet.
