r JOINT SPECIAL SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15,2012 NHS NORTH BOARD ROOM A meeting of the Joint Special School Building Committee was held Nashua High North on Wednesday, February 15,2012. Alderman Dowd called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Alderman Tabacsko led the prayer and Mr. Mosher led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Alderman Deane, Alderman Dowd, Alderman McCarthy, Alderman Moriarty, Alderman Tabacsko, Alderman Vitale, Mr. Haas, Mr. Hallowell, Mr. Mosher, Mr. Vaughan Also Present: Mr. Donovan, Mr. Caulfield, Mr. Nikias, Channel 99 Videographer Previous Meeting Minutes Approval Alderman McCarthy moved that the previous minutes of the JSSBC meeting held Thursday, January 26, 2012 be accepted and placed on file and the readings be waived. Committee Reports Alderman McCarthy moved that the previous minutes of the Construction Projects Committee meeting held Thursday, January 26,2012 be accepted and placed on file. So Voted. Alderman McCarthy moved to suspend the rules to allow for an oral report of a meeting held earlier this evening. So voted. Alderman McCarthy The Committee met earlier this evening and took no actions, other than the approval of invoices. APPROVAL OF INVOICES ALDERMAN McCARTHY MOVED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING INVOICES: TO TURNER BUILDING SCIENCE FOR $29,451.43; AND TO CX ASSOCIATES FOR $1,106.25. SO VOTED. JSSBC COMMITTEE MEETING February 15, 2012 ALDERMAN McCARTHY MOVED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING INVOICES: TO HARVEY CONSTRUCTION FOR $153,527.18; TOCX ASSOCIATES FOR $3,689; TO DESMARAIS ENVIRONMENTAL FOR $504; AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS FOR $380. SO VOTED. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION Alderman McCarthy Charlotte Avenue project is underway and we're still finalizing designs Fairgrounds and Ledge are nearly complete. Alderman Dcane I had a question on these truck charges from Harvey. We're paying for a truck for each site, and cell phones... Are there 2 different trucks at two different sites and one guy? Mr. Nikias We have 2 supers, one dedicated to each school and there is a truck at each school. That is a weekly fee that was agreed to at the beginning. It includes everything related to the trucks... fuel and insurance, etc. Alderman Deane Why is one $675 (Ledge) and one £900 (FMS)? Mr. Nikias It's per week. What you're finding there I think is that you might he looking at 3 weeks on one bill and 4 on another. Typically we list that on a weekly basis. I'd have to check with accounting to see why it's listed like that, I know at Ledge Street we made a change and now have an Assistant Superintendent on the job. I think we may be looking at 3 weeks vs. a full month on the other one. Alderman Deane Can you please verify the weekly charges for each truck with your accounting department, and verify if these charges are for 3 weeks and 4 weeks? Mr. Nikias Yes. It typically shows up for each week. I don't know why it's different this time. Alderman Deane So you're thinking there was an extra week for FMS than for Ledge Street... and that's why the cell phone charge is twice as much for Ledge than FMS"* Mr. Nikias It's on an individual basis, depending on where they're calling. CONTRACT APPROVAL Alderman Dowd Are there any contract approvals? 2 JSSBC COMMITTEE MEETING February 15, 2012 Mr. Donovan There is a proposal in your packets from CX Associates for the Charlotte Avenue commissioning. Alderman McCarthy It would seem to me that this should be held for recommendation by the Construction Committee first. We certainly don't need the commissioning services in place yet. Mr. Donovan There is a design piece to the commissioning, but 1 don't know the exact time for it. Alderman Peane 1 concur with Alderman McCarthy COMMENTS B Y MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC None.
