Park/Rec Nick Caggiano Volunteer T-Shirts The years volunteer t-shirts need to be ordered. Greg Andruskevich recommended adding a number of XXL shirts based off previous volunteer input. Pam Anderson suggested a medium green shirt as that would make them more ‘wearable’ outside of the park. Peter Tests countered and recommended something that is easily visible in the park. After a brief discussion around shirt & ink color it was concluded to stay with the blue shirts & black lettering from the previous year. Canal Clean-Up Nick stated he has been working this project diligently and it is now ready to go out to bid. Dick Gillespie raised a concern about the amount of vehicle load that would be placed on the canal berm and if the canal berm could withstand this load. (Possibly a 6-wheel dump truck along with the weight of removing a water- soaked log). Dick recommended there be specific language included in the bid pertaining to vehicle restrictions. Red Trail Walkway Nick stated the red trail walkway is well under way to go out to bid. The new city surveyor has marked trees in the area. The walkway will be extended to cover more uneven terrain. The sub-structure will be based off the Andrews bridge sub-structure. Nick also explained the use of ‘pins’ that will be attached to some of the ledge in the area where support timbers can be attached. He also explained there will be helical piers used as well. The final material (engineered decking or pressure treated lumber) has not been determined as of yet. There will be overlook bumpouts along the walkway. Nick will email the details to Dick for review and will follow up with allowable vehicle size. Utility Vehicle Purchase Based on committee recommendation, there will be a John Deere utility vehicle purchased with funding from the cell tower fund. The requisition will go to the Jan/Feb Board of Public works for review then to the finance committee. Entrance Sign Inserts These are now complete and will be ready for install in the spring. Dog bag stations & information boxes will be moved to the new kiosks. The old kiosks are in to great of dis-repair for use in another location. Soifert Field Irrigation The tie in to the domestic water supply was completed in December and the canal pump will be removed. The canal output will no longer run under the Mill Buildings into the river, there will be a 42” pipe installed to carry the canal water directly to the Nashua river. 4. Old Business All.
