Daniel Lavelle, Corey O'Connor, Natalia Rudiak, Theresa Kail-Smith Mary Beth Doheny, City Clerk - Kimberly Clark, Deputy City Clerk City Council Meeting Minutes - Final January 13, 2015 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE PROCLAMATIONS 2015-1193 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and celebrate the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the recipients of the 2014 Coalition of the Year Award, and does hereby declare Tuesday, January 13th, 2015 to be Big Brothers Big Sisters Coalition of the Year day in the City of Pittsburgh. A motion was made that this matter be Adopted. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. 2015-1194 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare January 19, 2015 to be “Dolores Redwood Day” in the City of Pittsburgh. BURGESS PRESENTS: 2015-1185 Resolution amending Resolution No. 703 of 2014 authorizing the Mayor and the City Solicitor to enter into a professional services agreement or agreements with E.B. Jacobs, Inc. for expert consulting services associated with revisions to the City's methods used to hire police officers and providing for payment of the cost thereof, not to exceed $52,000.00. Amending Resolution No. 703 of 2014, effective November 4, 2014, in order to update Code Account information for payments authorized under a professional services agreement with E.B. Jacobs, Inc. HARRIS PRESENTS: 2015-1187 Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Chief of Innovation and Performance to enter into a Fellowship Participation Agreement with Student Conservation Association, Inc., cost not to exceed $13,000. Read and referredto the Committee on Performance and Asset Management 2015-1188 Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement with the Heinz Endowments to receive $50,000 in funding to support (1) A Lean Six Sigma certified trainer; (2) New, innovative cost saving and waste reduction policies and (3) A pilot group of City Employees that will complete the training and start to identify cost savings and performance improvements. Read and referredto the Committee on Performance and Asset Management 2015-1189 Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement with the Richard King Mellon Foundation to receive $400,000 in funding for three years support to create a Regional Data Resource Center to serve as a portal for interactive data sharing between government agencies, departments, and other nonprofit and public agencies. DANIEL LAVELLE PRESENTS: City of Pittsburgh Page 2 Printed on 1/14/2015 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final January 13, 2015 2015-1183 Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety to enter into an agreement or agreements with a vendor to provide licensed veterinary services to the City’s Bureau of Animal Care & Control, including but not limited to the consistent supply and proper disposal of all drugs, needles, and syringes necessary for the humane euthanasia of wild animals and providing for the cost thereof. It is anticipated that the contractor will be required to spend approximately ten (10) hours per month with regard to these services, at an overall cost not to exceed $100,454.48, calculated at the rate of $50,227.24 per year.
