16885 CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS City Council Chambers, 123 South Lincoln Street, Municipal Building, Aberdeen, South Dakota, February 21, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., regular meeting of the Board of City Council Members, Mayor Mike Levsen presiding. Present at roll call were City Councilors Todd Campbell, Alan Johnson, Dennis “Mike” Olson, Mark Remily, Rob Ronayne, and Clint Rux. City Councilors David Bunsness and Jennifer Slaight-Hansen were absent. City Staff present were Lynn Lander, Ron Wager, Robin Bobzien, Brett Bill, Karl Alberts, Dave McNeil, and Shirley Arment. Mayor Levsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. MINUTES Johnson moved, Rux seconded to approve the minutes of February 13, 2017, as circulated. All present voting aye, motion carried. OPEN FORUM – No one was present. CONSENT CALENDAR Ronayne moved, Remily seconded to approve the following items on the consent calendar: SET BID DATE – of March 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. for the following advertisements for bids: 2017 Asphaltic Concrete and Surfacing Repair Mix; 2017 Bituminous Oils; 2017 Seal Coat Aggregates; 2017 Watermains & Fittings, Manhole Covers & Inlet Frames & Grates, and PVC Sewer Pipe; and Accessible Sidewalk Quadrant Improvements Project CONC-2017-2. LICENSE – Motor Bus Driver – Jesse Swallow REQUEST FOR PERMISSION – to serve and permit the consumption of alcoholic beverages at the Wylie Park Pavilion on September 29th, September 30th, and October 1st for a Heilman/Hertel Wedding. All present voting aye, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS DECLARE GRANITE SURPLUS FOR COUNTY EXCHANGE Remily moved, Rux seconded to declare 3500 to 4000 tons of Granite Rip Rap from the City Public Works Department as surplus property for an exchange with Brown County for Granite Seal Coating Aggregate on an equal weight basis. All present voting aye, motion carried. REQUEST TO PURCHASE APPLIANCES FOR LIBRARY On February 14, 2017, the City Manager’s Office received three bids for new appliances for the new library. A detailed list of the bids is on file at the City Finance Office. Campbell moved, Rux seconded to accept the bid from Lang’s Audio TV & Appliance in the amount of $9,090.00 for new appliances for the new library. All present voting aye, motion carried.
