Muyni

Privacy Policy

Effective July 18, 2026

Muyni is a free public archive of local government meeting records. We collect as little personal information as we can while running the service. This page describes what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.

What we collect

Meeting alerts. If you subscribe to alerts for a city, we store your email address, the cities you chose, and a token used for your unsubscribe link.

Feedback. If you use the feedback form, we store what you submit.

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, searches run, general location, device type). Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data under Google’s privacy policy.

Server logs. Like nearly every website, our infrastructure keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested).

How we use it

To deliver the alerts you asked for, respond to feedback, keep the site working, and understand which parts of it are useful. That is the whole list. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run ads.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run the site: cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), our database host (MongoDB Atlas), email delivery for alerts (Resend), and analytics (Google). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We do not share personal information with anyone else unless required by law.

About the public records we archive

Muyni republishes official public records — agendas, minutes, and meeting documents published by local governments. Those records are created by cities, not by us, and they sometimes contain names and other details of people who spoke at, were appointed by, or were discussed in public meetings. We index these records as published; the official record always remains with the city clerk. If you have questions or concerns about content that appears in an archived record, email us at muyniadmin@proton.me and we will review it.

How long we keep things

Alert subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe (every alert email includes an unsubscribe link). Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Server logs rotate on our providers’ standard schedules.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from alerts at any time, and you can email us to ask what data we hold about you or to have it deleted — we will honor either request.

Children

Muyni is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Questions? Email muyniadmin@proton.me. See also our Terms of Use.
