18650 MINUTES ABERDEEN CITY COUNCIL MEETING City Council Chambers, 123 South Lincoln Street, Municipal Building, Aberdeen, South Dakota, June 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., regular meeting of the City Council. CALL TO ORDER MEETING ROLL CALL Present at roll call were City Council Members Erin Fouberg, Charlotte Liebelt, Josh Rife, Alan Johnson, Justin Reinbold, Tiffany Langer, and Mayor Travis Schaunaman. Council Member’s Rob Ronayne and David Novstrup were absent. City Staff present were Robin Bobzien, Ron Wager, Stuart Nelson, Ken Hubbart, Joel Weig, Dave McNeil, and Jordan McQuillen. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Schaunaman led the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Johnson, second by Reinbold to approve the agenda. Voice vote to approve, all present voting aye, motion carried. MINUTES Motion by Liebelt, second by Fouberg to approve the minutes of the June 17, 2024, City Council Meeting, as circulated. Voice vote to approve, all present voting aye, motion carried. OPEN FORUM No one appeared in the open forum to address the Council. PUBLIC HEARING AND APPROVAL OF NEW RETAIL (ON-OFF SALE) WINE AND CIDER LICENSE FOR THE FINERY ON MAIN, LLC, DBA THE FINERY AT 3211 7TH AVE SE, SUITE #107 Mayor Schaunaman opened the hearing for the new Retail (On-Off Sale) Wine and Cider License. Motion by Rife, second by Liebelt to approve the new Retail (On-Off Sale) Wine and Cider License for The Finery on Main, LLC, dba The Finery at 3211 7th Ave SE, Suite #107. Voice vote to approve, all present voting aye, motion carried. APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 24-06-04R DESIGNATING THE ABERDEEN INSIDER AS AN OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER FOR THE CITY AND TERMINATING SUCH DESIGNATION FOR ABERDEEN NEWS City Attorney Ron Wager presented the Resolution. Motion by Langer, second by Fouberg to approve Resolution 24-06-04R designating the Aberdeen Insider as an official newspaper for the city and terminating such designation for Aberdeen News. Roll call vote to approve, all present voting aye, motion carried. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT City Manager Robin Bobzien informed the council the 2025 departmental budget meetings have been reviewed; recognized police department employee Anne Weig for ten (10) years of service, provided a status updated on the water main break and current public works projects from City Engineer Stu Nelson. Mayor Schaunaman recognized Council Member Rife for his service to the city as a council member. OPEN FORUM  18653 Mayor Schaunaman granted Wendy Johnson one minute of open forum to discuss concerns with water quality.
