K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes August 7, 2018. The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the public library. Present were Board Members Peter Ramey, Troy McQuillen, Paul McDonald, Sharon Bain, Misty Francom, and Library Director Shirley Arment. President Peter Ramey called the meeting to order. Paul McDonald moved that the minutes of the July 3, 2018 meeting be approved. Misty Francom seconded the motion. Motion carried. The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed with the addition of a report from Shirley Arment on a visit and walk through with building architect Steve Miller to discuss issue that remain with the building and furniture. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Paul McDonald moved to approve that the current list of bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Troy McQuillen seconded the motion. Motion carried. Library Board President Peter Ramey agreed to be an authorized signer on the K.O. Lee Aberdeen Federal Credit Union account along with Library Director Shirley Arment and Library Board Treasurer Paul McDonald. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Shirley Arment gave an update on the progress of the Strategic Plan. Paul McDonald moved to form a team to look at options for Sunday hours at the library. Troy McQuillen seconded. Motion carried, with 4 members voting in favor of the motion and 1 against. The team will consist of 2 Library Board members, one Library Foundation member, Library Staff, and Library Administration members. A City Council member and the City of Aberdeen Human Resource Director will also be invited to the meetings. The team will come up with recommendations and present them to the Library Board in the future. Shirley Arment updated the Board on budget issues for 2019. NEW BUSINESS Sharon Bain moved that the following slate of officers be nominated to represent the Library Board through June of 2019. President: Peter Ramey Vice President: Sharon Bain. Library Foundation Board Representatives: Troy McQuillen and Misty Francom Troy McQuillen seconded the motion. The slate of officers as presented were elected unanimously. Paul McDonald was elected Library Board Treasurer at the August 7th Board meeting. The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. ____________________________ Its__________________________
