K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes November 6, 2018. The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday November 6, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the public library. Present were Board Members Peter Ramey, Troy McQuillen, Sharon Bain, Paul McDonald and Library Director Shirley Arment. President Peter Ramey called the meeting to order. Troy McQuillen moved that the minutes of the October 2, 2018 meeting be approved. Paul McDonald seconded the motion. Motion carried. The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Paul McDonald moved to approve that the current list of bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Sharon Bain seconded. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Board discussed points from the Library’s Strategic Plan. Shirley Arment reported that the staff is investigating indoor and outdoor signage possibilities and library card distribution plans for children in the community. She reported pricing for an app that is recently available for the library’s integrated system. The Board also discussed ideas to increase library card registrations, and to increase the library materials budget. Troy McQuillen made a motion to approve the use of funds from the William Johnston estate for the purchase of 2 digital LED televisions with digital signage adaptors, wall mount systems, and installation from Lang’s Audio, TV & Appliance of Aberdeen. The size of the TV’s to be determined by library staff for library digital signage needs up to the amount of $3013.89. Sharon Bain seconded. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS The Board reviewed the Library’s Exhibit Policy. Paul McDonald moved to approve the update of the policy as presented, Troy McQuillen seconded. Motion carried. Troy McQuillen moved to close the library at 5:00pm on December 31, 2018 for New Year’s Eve. Sharon Bain seconded. Motion carried. The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. ____________________________ Its__________________________
