K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes February 19, 2019. The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 5:00 PM at the public library. Present were Board Members Peter Ramey, Troy McQuillen, Sharon Bain, Clint Rux and Library Director Shirley Arment. President Peter Ramey called the meeting to order. Troy McQuillen moved that the minutes of the January 8, 2018 meeting be approved Sharon Bain seconded the motion. Motion carried. The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Sharon Bain moved to renew the libraries subscription to the Select Reads, Dear Reader database and to pay for the resource with $3,400.00 from the Library credit union fund. Troy McQuillen seconded. Motion carried. Troy McQuillen moved to approve that the current list of bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Sharon Bain seconded. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Board discussed points from the Library’s Strategic Plan. An update was given to the Board on the water dripping problem in the library. The Board discussed changes made to new signage for the library. The changes will be forwarded to Service Signs for adjustments. Discussion continued on the use of funds from a donation made by the William Johnston estate. Book bags for new infants and their parents was again discussed. Troy McQuillen will provide a logo to go along with the libraries name on the bags and the materials for the project. Other ideas for use of the gift will be discussed further at the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS Troy McQuillen moved that the new Library Employee Emergency Procedures document be approved for use by the Library Staff. Sharon Bain Seconded. Motion carried. Board President, Peter Ramey signed the document.
