K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes November 2, 2021. The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. Present were Board Members Lynn Klundt, Peter Ramey, Troy McQuillen, Don Briscoe, Cindy Senger, City Council member Rob Ronayne, Library Director Shirley Arment and City Manager Joe Gaa. Board President, Lynn Klundt called the meeting to order. OPEN FORUM Community member Robert Fay spoke in the open forum portion of the meeting. MINUTES Cindy Senger moved that the minutes of the September 7, 2021 meeting be approved. Troy McQuillen seconded the motion. Motion carried. LIBRARIAN’S REPORT The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Troy McQuillen moved to approve that the October/November 2021 bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Cindy Senger seconded. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Board discussed the Brown County contract for Library Services for 2022. Don Briscoe moved to send an unsigned contract for library services in 2022 to the Brown County Commission in the amount of $14,000. Peter Ramey seconded. Motion carried. Further discussion on the matter will be held at the December 2021 meeting. Shirley Arment updated the Board on the following events that were held at the library:  September 16, 2021- Aberdeen Quester’s group dedication event for mural created by Mary Gorder Groth.  September 29, 2021-Rededication of the SDSVI Freedom Shrine by the Aberdeen Exchange Club. NEW BUSINESS Weekend holiday closings for the end of 2021 and the year 2022 were discussed. Troy McQuillen moved the Library adopt the following weekend holiday schedule for 2022: Holiday Library Closures for weekends in 2021/2022 Saturday, December 25 (Christmas Day). Sunday, December 26, 2021 Saturday, January 1, 2022 (New Year’s Day). Sunday, January 2, 2022 Sunday, January 16 (City holiday on Mon. January 17 for Martin Luther King Day), Sunday, February 20 (City holiday Mon. February 21 for President’s Day) Sunday, April 17 for Easter Sunday (City administrative holiday closure on Friday, April 15). Sunday, May 29 (City holiday on Mon. May 30 for Memorial Day). Sunday, July 3 (City holiday on Mon. July 4 for Independence Day). Sunday, September 4 (City holiday on Mon September 5 for Labor Day).  Sunday, October 9 (City holiday on Mon. October 5 for Native American Day). Saturday and Sunday, December 24/25 (City holiday closure on Monday, December 26 for Christmas). The Library Board discussed library accomplishments for 2021 and proposed goals for 2022. More discussion of the goals will be held at the December 2021 Board meeting.
