K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes December 7, 2021. The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. Present were Board Members Lynn Klundt, Peter Ramey, Troy McQuillen, Don Briscoe, Cindy Senger, Library Director Shirley Arment and City Manager Joe Gaa. Board President, Lynn Klundt called the meeting to order. OPEN FORUM Community member Robert Fay spoke in the open forum portion of the meeting. MINUTES Cindy Senger moved that the minutes of the November 2, 2021 meeting be approved. Troy McQuillen seconded the motion. Motion carried. LIBRARIAN’S REPORT The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Troy McQuillen moved to approve that the November 2021 bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Peter Ramey seconded. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Board discussed the Brown County contract for Library Services for 2022. Joe Gaa, Troy McQuillen and Shirley Arment reported on attending the Brown County Commission meeting on November 30, 2021 to discuss the contract. The Library Board will wait to have further discussion on the matter once there is a response to their proposal from the County Commissioners. Cindy Senger moved to extend the expiration date on library card accounts, for Brown County patrons (outside the City limits of Aberdeen), through December of 2022 or until further discussion is held with the County Commission. Troy McQuillen seconded. Motion carried with all voting Aye. The Library’s goals for 2022 were discussed. Troy McQuillen moved that the goals be approved. Peter Ramey seconded. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Shirley Arment told the Board about issues with the entryway lighting on the building. More discussion will be held at a future meeting after alternative lighting measures are investigated. The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. ____________________________ Its__________________________
