K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes February 8, 2022 The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. Present were Board Members Lynn Klundt, Peter Ramey, Troy McQuillen, Don Briscoe, Cindy Senger, Library Director Shirley Arment and City Manager Joe Gaa. Board Vice- President, Troy McQuillen called the meeting to order. OPEN FORUM Community member Robert Fay spoke in the open forum portion of the meeting. MINUTES Peter Ramey moved that the minutes of the January 4, 2022 meeting be approved. Don Briscoe seconded the motion. Motion carried. LIBRARIAN’S REPORT The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed. Shirley Arment reported that Brown County Commission President Duane Sutton came and spoke with her about the County/City library services contract. Mr. Sutton indicated that the Brown County Commission has decided to keep the budgeted amount for library services with the City of Aberdeen at $6,000. Library Board members decided to discuss the issue further at their March 1, 2022 meeting. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Troy McQuillen moved to approve that the January 2022 bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Cindy Senger seconded. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None to discuss. NEW BUSINESS Troy McQuillen moved to approve the renewal of the Dear Reader, Select Reads subscription service for 2022. Peter Ramey seconded. Motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION Motion by Cindy Senger, seconded by Peter Ramey to move into Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter. All voting Aye. Executive session started at 5:14 pm. Motion by Peter Ramey, second by Troy McQuillen, to move out of executive session. All voting aye. Executive Session ended at 5:34 pm. The Library Board moved back into regular session at 5:35 pm. Peter Ramey moved to extend the search for Library Director and to leave the position open until filled. Don Briscoe seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned. The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. ____________________________ Its__________________________
