K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes May 3, 2022 The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library met on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. Present were Board Members Troy McQuillen, Peter Ramey, Cindy Senger, Library Director Anna Lillian Moser, City Liaison Rob Ronayne, and City Manager Joe Gaa. Board Member Troy McQuillan called the meeting to order. MINUTES Peter Ramey moved that the minutes of the April 5, 2022 meeting be approved. Cindy Senger seconded the motion. Motion carried. OPEN FORUM Community member Robert Faye spoke at the meeting, mentioning a number of his ongoing concerns with the Library, including the situation with the County Commission, the Library’s roof, messaging and communications. He wished the new director well. LIBRARIAN’S REPORT The Library Director presented the Board with a Librarian’s Report. Planning for Summer Reading is underway, with the Youth Services department visiting schools and other sites to promote the summer’s upcoming activities. The Library will be employing the app READsquared for Summer Reading, which is provided free of charge through the state. Lastly, it was Information Services Librarian Kathy Haas’ last week. FINANCIAL MATTERS The current list of bills and financial statements were reviewed. Cindy Senger moved to approve that the April 2022 bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Peter Ramey seconded. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS 2023 Budget – The City Manager said that the 2023 budget will be brought to the board during its next meeting, giving the new Library Director time to familiarize herself with the Library’s finances. Transition of new library director – Moser plans to sit down with fulltime staff on Tuesday, May 10 to discuss the direction they’d like to see the Library move in. Department heads have already reached out to work on possible collaborations. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. Peter Ramey seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned by Troy McQuillan. The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library. ____________________ Its___________
