Aberdeen City Planning Commission February 21, 2017 MINUTES ABERDEEN CITY PLANNING COMMISSION February 21 , 2017 The City Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Mike Jung. Members present at roll call were Woodward, Jung, Cogley, and Marske. Rivett and Lien were absent. Also present were Brett Bill, Planning & Zoning Director, Ken Hubbart, City Planner, and Paula Nelson, Planning Commission Secretary. Marske moved and Woodward seconded to approve the minutes of January 17, 2017, all members voting aye, the motion carried. There being no old business Chairman Jung began with new business as follows: 1) New Use and Construction in a (C-1-R-4) District for property described as “Lot 1, Walz First Addition,” (a.k.a. 505 Harrison St S) was submitted by Greg Wieker & Rich Bachmeier. Ken Hubbart stated that the petitioners are requesting to construct a new insurance office, which is a permitted use in the (C-1)/R-4) Zoning District. This zoning designation requires that all proposed construction and uses must be reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission prior to construction. It appears that the new structure and use will comply with all requirements for construction, parking and landscaping as set forth in city ordinance. Following discussion Woodward moved and Marske seconded to approve with the stipulation that the plans are approved and permits obtained prior to construction commencing. Upon roll call, all members voting aye, the motion carried. There being no further business before the Commission, Woodward moved and Marske seconded to adjourn the meeting, all members voting aye, the motion carried.
