MINUTES OF CAUCUS
Wednesday, March 16, 2022
The Common Council was convened at 5:30 p.m. and was called to order by President Pro Tem
Kimbrough
Members Present: Adams, Anane, Balarin, Clarke, Farrell, Flynn, Frederick, Hoey, Johnson,
Keegan, Kimbrough, Robinson, Romero, Zamer, and Council President Ellis
Staff Present: Danielle Gillespie, Brett Williams, and Ethan Samuel
Discussion/Questions:
President Pro Tem called the meeting
Council Member Balarin discussed the CRC and the changes to the Ordinance
Senior Assistant Corporation Council Brett Williams discussed that he will be making the
amendments to the amended resolution for the CRC.
Council Member Hoey discussed his issues with the Planning, Economic Development
Committee meeting from March 9th, 2022.
Council Member Balarin explained why they had the CRC resolution first from the
March 9th meeting.
Sarah Reginelli responded to Council Member Hoey’s comments on the reauthorization
of the CRC Resolution.
Council Member Romero asked if Sarah Reginelli could explain how there are projects
that are lost that would help Albany in which Sarah Reginelli and Joe Scott responded to.
Council Member Balarin said he is okay with putting more work into this bill and
commented on Council Member Hoey’s issues
Council Member Anane discussed permanently appointing CRC and said there needs to
be more discussion on this issue.
Sarah Reginelli discussed the time frame and that they need to be reauthorized by April
15th.
Brenda Robinson introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Shawn Morris introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Emily Loughlin introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Dale Getto introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the Reapportionment
Commission
Dylan Carey introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Scott Alladice introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Allison Creurand introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Carol-June Washington introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Judith Mazza introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
John-Raphael Pichardo introduced herself and discussed why she is interested in the
Reapportionment Commission
Council Member Kimbrough discussed the Agenda for March 21st
Council Member(s) Kimbrough and Farrell discussed having agendas for Leadership
meetings
Council Member Zamer asked if Leadership team received what the rest of the council
asked of them in which Council Members Farrell and Kimbrough
Danielle Gillespie discussed going back in person with the legislation
Council Member(s) Kimbrough, Hoey and Farrell discussed having meetings in person
Council Member Johnson discussed the difficulty of meetings in person and that they
shouldn’t treat meetings in person as a bad thing.
Council Member Keegan noted that the problem with hybrid meetings that wherever the
person is has to submit where they are, Council Member Kimbrough responded to her
comments.
Council Member Kimbrough discussed the interviews that happened today for the
Research Counselor position.
Council Member Hoey made an announcement about the Saint Paddy’s day parade.
President Pro Tem adjourned the meeting at 7:10pm
