MINUTES OF CAUCUS Wednesday, June 1, 2022 The Common Council was convened at 5:30 p.m. and was called to order by President Pro Temp Kimbrough Members Present: Anane, Clarke, Farrell, Flynn, Frederick, Hoey, Keegan, Kimbrough, Love, Robinson, Romero, and Zamer Staff Present: Danielle Gillespie, John-Raphael Pichardo, Brett Williams, and Ethan Samuel Discussion/Questions:  APD Deputy Chief Foley discussed about the shooting that recently happened.  Council Member Love asked questions about the shooting, in which APD Deputy Chief Foley responded to  Council Member Robinson asked about hearing more about the shootings that aren’t told to the council, APD Deputy Chief Foley responded to.  Council Member Hoey asked if there is anything the Council can do relating to the federal government with regulation for fully automatic weapons, in which APD Deputy Chief Foley responded to.  Council Member Robinson discussed shootings on Quail street and what can be done about that, in which APD Deputy Chief Foley responded to.  Council Member Romero asked multiple questions in which APD Deputy Chief Foley responded to.  Council Member Love asked about sitting down with APD Deputy Chief Foley and talking about all of the gun shots they are noticed about.  Mayor Sheehan discussed the ARPA funds.  Council Member Love asked about how the people who received the ARPA funds will get the money.  Council Member Farrell discussed what happened to the groups that didn’t receive the ARPA funds.  Council Member Romero asked a question about exit interviews, in which Mayor Sheehan, and Council Member Farrell and Darius Shannifar responded to.  Council Member Frederick asked a question, in which Mayor Sheehan responded to.  Council Member Anane thanked them for all of the hard work with dealing with the ARPA funds.  Council Member Hoey thanked them for all of the hard work with dealing with the ARPA funds.  Capitalize Albany presented the NYS consolidation Funds  Council Member Frederick asked about the project, in which Renee McFarlin responded to.  Council Member Robinson asked when the project information will be sent to the council, in which Renee McFarlin responded to.  Council Member Kimbrough discussed the Agenda for the June 6th Regular Meeting,  Senior Assistant Corporation Council Brett Williams also discussed the Agenda for the June 6th Regular Meeting.  Council Member Anane discussed his resolutions.  Council Member Keegan discussed her legislation  Council Member Hoey discussed about the municipal internet commission and the interviews they had for it.  Council Member(s) Farrell and Kimbrough discussed the amendment process.  Council Member Zamer asked if we shouldn’t vote an amended piece of legislation shouldn’t get voted out of committee and if there is a timeframe on when they will see the amendment, in which Council Member Kimbrough responded to.  Council Member Romero asked if we could pay someone to redo the website, in which Danielle Gillespie responded to.  President Pro Tem adjourned the meeting at 8:15pm Link to meeting recording: https://www.facebook.com/albany.commoncouncil/videos/508097464392869 Respectfully Submitted, Ethan Samuel Legislative Aide
