k MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING Wednesday, October 26, 2022 The Common Council was convened and called to order by Council President Corey Ellis at 5:45PM. The roll being called, the following answered to their names: Anane, Balarin, Farrell, Hoey, Johnson, Keegan, Kimbrough, Love, Robinson, and Zamer Also present was the following staff: Danielle Gillespie, Jake Eisland, Brett Williams, David Galin, and Gary Stiglmeier Council President Pro Tempore Kimbrough led the Council in the pledge of allegiance and moment of silence. CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION(S) RESOLUTION 99.103.22R A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF HON. GARY F. STIGLMEIER (RET.) AS PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSIONER WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Albany has appointed Hon. Gary F. Stiglmeier (Ret.) to the position of Public Safety Commissioner; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Albany hereby confirms the appointment of Hon. Gary F. Stiglmeier (Ret.) as Public Safety Commissioner. Council Members Hoey, Anane, Keegan, and Kimbrough spoke on the Resolution prior to passage. There being no further discussion, Council President Pro Tempore Kimbrough called for a roll call vote thereon and the Resolution was ADOPTED: 1 Resolution 99.103.22R was co-sponsored by Council Member(s) Anane, Balarin, Farrell, Keegan, Kimbrough, Love, Robinson, and Zamer. The Resolution passed by the following vote of all Council Members elected voting in favor thereof: Affirmative – Anane, Balarin, Farrell, Hoey, Johnson, Keegan, Kimbrough, Love, Robinson, and Zamer Affirmative 10 Negative 0 Abstain 0 ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, Councilman Hoey made a motion to adjourn which was duly seconded and adopted by unanimous voice vote. COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF ALBANY, NEW YORK NOTICE OF A CAUCUS/ WORK SESSION AND SPECIAL MEETING Notice is hereby given that there will be a caucus/ work session immediately followed by a special meeting of the Albany Common Council. Caucus/ Work Session will begin at 5:30pm on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 to consider the appointment of Hon. Gary F. Stiglmeier. Immediately following the caucus/ work session the council will consider the following resolution: Resolution Number 99.103.22R A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF HON. GARY F. STIGLMEIER (RET.) AS PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSIONER GENERAL PURPOSE OF LEGISLATION This resolution confirms the Mayor’s appointment of retired Albany City Court Judge Gary F. Stiglmeier to the position of Public Safety Commissioner. NECESSITY FOR LEGISLATION AND ANY CHANGE TO EXISTING LAW Council confirmations of mayoral appointments are accomplished via resolution.
