SHEEHAN NE W YOR K DIRECTOR: BRADLEY GLASS DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT CONTACT: Erin Glennon Historic Resources Commission hrc@albanyny.gov Historic Resources Commission Public Workshop Date: Thursday, February 3, 2022 Location: Zoom Teleconference and Videoconference Time: 6:00 PM Present: Members: Hacker, Kaplan, McEneny, Myers, Tobin Planning Staff: Glennon DISPOSITION OF CASES PROJECT # 00458 Application(s) COA 0932 Property Address 367 State Street Owner Earl Steenburg & William Godlewski Historic District Center Square/Hudson Park After discussing the request to retain the vinyl sash windows installed without approval or replace the non-compliant vinyl windows with wood replacement windows, the Commission requested the following information and made the following recommendations-  The applicant must clarify how many windows they are requesting to replace;  If the applicant is proposing to replace all windows on the front elevation they must provide information on the condition of the windows and photos of all the existing historic wood windows and documenting any areas of damage and deterioration;  If the applicant are proposing to replace the remaining historic wood sash windows, the applicant must provide quotes for repair from a qualified Window Repair contractor;  The Commission would encourage the property owner to repair and retain the remaining historic wood sash windows;  The existing non-compliant vinyl sash windows must be removed and replaced with appropriate wood sash windows matching the site lines, setbacks of the existing historic sash windows, and fully fill the fenestration opening; and  The Commission would encourage the owner to retain the remaining historic wood windows and install storm windows to help weatherproof and protect the historic material.
