COMMON COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETING HUMAN RIGHTS AND HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE Jahmel Robinson, Chair Meeting called by: Jahmel Robinson, Chair Date: 03-26-20 Time: 5:30PM Committee Members Present: Robinson, Chair ☒ Conti ☒ Flynn ☒ Johnson ☒ Farrell ☒ Travon Jackson Timothy Doherty Natisha Alexander Brenda Robinson Invitees/Speakers Angelica Kang Council Members Present: Anane, and Kimbrough City Personnel Present: John-Raphael Pichardo Minutes Agenda Item (s): INTERVIEW OF CANDIDATES FOR THE COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND POTENTIAL RECOMMENDATION OF THE APPOINTEES TO THE FULL COMMON COUNCIL Questions and Discussion:  Committee and Dr. Brenda Robinson interviewed Travon Jackson, Natisha Alexander, and Timothy Doherty.  After interviews and a discussion about the candidates, Council Member Johnson made a motion to appoint Travon Jackson (term ending August 21, 2022) and Natisha Alexander (term ending August 21, 2020) as the newest members of Commission on Human Right, with a favorable recommendation, which was seconded by Council Member Farrell. The motion passed unanimously. Adjourn: Council member Conti made a motion to adjourn at 7:07PM, which was duly made, seconded, and passed. This meeting was held following Governor Cuomo’s executive order 202.1 and Mayor Sheehan’s emergency order 315-1b using http://freeconferencecall.com/ as the meeting platform.
