An Introduction of the Committee to the Buildings & Regulatory Compliance Department
and other departments they’ll be working with.
Questions and Discussion:
Council Member Farrell introduced herself and what they will be doing this meeting.
Rick Lajoy introduced himself and their department.
Rick Lajoy presented what his department does in a slide show
Council Member Keegan asked about unoccupied structures that are not considered vacant and what is
classified as vacant and what could make it go onto the vacant registry and how long people can claim buildings
are for sale in which Rick Lajoy, Valerie Scott and Council Member Farrell responded to.
Council Member Hoey asked about permits to dig up the street and if that’s through Rick LaJoy’s department,
in which Rick Lajoy responded to.
Valerie Scott thanked the Council Members and discussed their working hours.
Corporation Council Assistant Chris Cech thanked everyone.
Council Member Keegan asked if the Council has the resources to affect the passed polices in which Chris Cech
responded to.
Council Member Clarke asked about their working relationship with the landbank and how that affects the
taking over process and demoing in which Rick Lajoy responded to.
Council Member Hoey asked if there will be a backlog when Chris Cech leaves or if they will try to extend his
grant, in which Chris Cech, Senior Assistant Corporation Counsel Brett Williams and Valerie Scott responded
to.

The chairperson asked for a motion to adjourn at which was duly made, seconded, and passed.
