MINUTES MEETING OF THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ALBANY HELD OCTOBER 28, 2020, VIA VIDEO CONFERENCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES ISSUED BY NYS DUE TO COVID-19. Appeals – The Commission entered into executive session at 4:55 p.m. to discuss matters leading to the appointment and employment of candidates for the titles of Police Officer and Firefighter, inviting Amy Lavine, Mark Decker and Sandra Coleman to participate. TITLE # OF CANDIDATES Police Officer 3 Firefighter 3 The Commission came out of executive session at 5:24 p.m. The Commission unanimously voted to uphold the non-selection and disqualify all candidates that submitted an appeal. VIII. Adoption of Job Specifications – The Commission unanimously voted to adopt the job descriptions for the titles listed below: • Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program Manager • Lead Hazard Reduction Program Director IX. Amendment of Job Specifications - The Commission unanimously voted to amend the job descriptions for the titles listed below: • Communications Coordinator • Risk Assessor • Sign and Graphics Director X. Old Business • Appeal Process for non-selection/disqualification – The Commission voted unanimously to maintain the current appeal process as is. XI. New Business • Meeting Dates for November and December Meetings – The Commission has scheduled its’ next meeting dates for Thursday, November 19, 2020 and Wednesday, January 6, 2021. XII.
