MINUTES OF THE ALBANY SPECIAL VILLAGE BOARD July 24, 2023 The regular meeting of the Albany Village Board was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall be President Kim Blumer. Members present were: Blumer, Michelle Monson, Fred Johnson, Roald Henderson, Larry Nipple, Tonya Stephan and Bert Hefty. Also present: Scott Vosters, Denny & Mary Ellen Parker, Danny & Angie Mueller, Amy Salzberg, Jenny Bryant, Suzanne Bryant, Ray Rose and Robert Ritter via Google Meet. The Pledge of Allegiance was shared. Proof of posting was verified. AGENDA: Motion by Johnson, seconded by Stephan, to approve the agenda as posted. Carried. RIVER DISCUSSION: Blumer opened the floor for discussions. Bryant asked the board what they would like to see done; she said she feels security cameras would be reasonable but not sure the security guards would be beneficial. Bryant will put video surveillance on the buses. Bryant reported that her staff is always trying to be positive in defusing situations and most often times that helps and even more so if they threaten to call the police. They also work to defuse any situations that start at the landing, will also put potential issues on different buses. More discussion on the charging for the use of the landing. Bryant said she would also be willing to purchase signs to put in people’s yards about no trespassing/under surveillance, something to help deter people from going in yards. It was suggested that the Village add under surveillance signs to help attempt to regulate some behavior. The signs will be looked into.
