Motion carried. Presentation 7.2.19_CC Meeting Minutes 1  City Manager Denice Gerstenberg presented information regarding the High Water Levels. Public Comment Bill Gratopp, St. Clair County Commissioner voiced his support of everything the city is doing with the high water situation. City Manager’s Report City Manager presented a brief report Consent Agenda Motion by Gillis; supported by Martin to approve the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried. Unfinished Business None New Business To consider re-appointments to the Planning Commission. Motion by Skarbek; supported by Meldrum to re-appoint Gale Anthony to the Planning Commission with a term that starts July 18, 2019 and ends July 17, 2022. Motion carried. Motion by Bembas; supported by Blair to re-appoint Ed Carter to the Planning Commission with a term that starts July 18, 2019 and ends July 17, 2022. Motion carried. Motion by Gillis; supported by Skarbek to reappoint Adam Ragsdale to the Planning Commission with a term that begins July 18, 2019 and ends July 17, 2022. Motion carried. To approve payment #3: $73,586.02 and payment #4: $109,356.83 for the Washington and Cole Streets Road Repair and Water Main Replacement Project. Motion by Blair; supported by Gillis to approve the Contractors Application for Payment No. 3 to Cortis Brothers Trucking, whose address is 6052 Starville, Marine City, MI 48039 in the amount of $73,586.02. Motion carried. Roll Call Ayes: Gillis, Martin, Meldrum, Skarbek, Stoneburner, Bembas, Blair Nays: None To approve annual purchase order for Sodium Hypochlorite for FY 2019- 2020: $13,500 Motion by Meldrum; supported by Bembas to approve issuance of a Purchase Order for sodium hypochlorite (chlorine) to Cul-Mac Industries, whose address is 3720 Venoy Rd, Wayne, MI 48184 in the not-to-exceed amount of $13,500 for FY 2019-2020. Motion carried. Motion by Bembas; supported by Skarbek approve issuance of a Purchase Order for fluoride, citric acid and sulfuric acid to PVS Nolwood Chemicals, Inc., whose address is 10900 Harper Avenue, Detroit MI 48213 in the not-to-exceed amount of $6,000 for FY 2019-2020. Hope everyone enjoys the Pickerel Tournament; hope there is a great turnout. It’s nice to see everyone helping each other and community coming together like it has. Gillis Thank you to everyone who has been helping with the high water. Hopefully, we can all have some fun at the Pickerel Tournament over the next couple of days. Have a nice Fourth of July Holiday. Bembas Special thank you to the Robotics team! They have offered a lot of help with sandbagging. I hope everyone can come out and enjoy the Pickerel Tournament. The new ship cam is pretty cool. Meldrum Thanks for being here. I’m very proud of the way everybody is pulling together to help each other out. There’s been such a big change over the past two years. It’s so wonderful. Happy 4th of July. Martin Thanks to the city workers for their efforts with the flooding. Special thanks to Joe Doan and Joe Vernier and all the volunteers – its making a difference. Skarbek Thanks for coming. Hope to see you on the weekend. Stoneburner The Algonac Clay Historical Society Museums are open over the holiday – July 4-5-6- 7th. Stop in and see what they have to offer. Thanks to the crew – Mrs. Gerstenberg, Andy Messina and Joe Doan – they’re all great workers. Thanks to the Algonac Robotics Team for all their help; thanks to Woodside Bible Church and other residents who are all stepping up to help others. I’ve seen residents express their thanks by bringing out water and food for them while they’re working. We’ve got a great community that is working together to help each other.
