New Business To approve 2020 Music in the Park: $1,200 Motion by Blair; supported by Skarbek to approve payment of $1,200 to Clay Township, whose address is 4710 Pte Tremble, Algonac, MI 48001 for 2020 Music in the Park. Motion carried. Motion carried. To approve Algonac Clay Community Fund Grant Application: $600 Motion by Blair; supported by Skarbek to approve application to the Algonac Clay Foundation for 4 Nantucket Smoke Stop Ashtrays in the amount of $600 and direct the City Manager to sign the application on behalf on the city. Motion carried. To approve Community Foundation of St. Clair County EZ-Grant Application: $4,000 Motion by Gillis; supported by Blair to approve application to the Community Foundation of St. Clair County for eight trash receptacles in the amount of $4,000 and direct the City Manager to sign the application on behalf on the city. Motion carried. To Temporarily waive credit/debit card and e-check fees for utility bills. Motion by Bembas; supported by Skarbek to temporarily waive credit/debit card and e-check fees for utility bills for the length of this health crisis. Motion carried. Accounts Payable Motion by Skarbek; supported by Gillis to approve accounts payable and payroll in the amount of $292,141.49. Motion carried. I’ve been watching and listening to many different information sources and opinions. We all need to do our research, keep ourselves informed, pay good attention to the CDC and WHO information and sort it all out for ourselves. Take care and stay healthy. Meldrum Stay safe and healthy. Blair Happy birthday to COTY Kathy Doan! I agree with Mr. Martin in that we shouldn’t panic; we need to do our homework and keep ourselves informed. This isn’t any different than any other virus or flu. Let’s look out for each other and remember to patronize the local restaurants and bars as much as you can. Look out for each other. Gillis I concur with Mr. Martin and Mr. Blair. We need to look after each other. If you know of someone who can’t get out for necessities, help them. E-mail me, or anyone on council, we can help make sure everyone has the necessities. We’ll get through this together. Bembas We’re an older-aged community. The CDC says that 81% of cases are mild; however, people 70+ are the most vulnerable. We need to be careful around our seniors. You might be okay but you can pass to them without knowing it and they won’t be okay. Be mindful and stay away from our seniors. I wish I could say something about some activities happening in Algonac as I always do, but there isn’t anything. Stoneburner On Thursday, March 19th, the school system will begin distributing meals for children. They will begin passing them out between 11-1 on this week. We may have some people who need help getting the meals because they can’t get to the school to get them. They will need delivery and the school may be looking for volunteers. They are passing out enough breakfasts and lunches to get the child to the next delivery day which could be three or four days. 3.17.2020 CC Minutes 4  They may need volunteers. Its very new, things are fluid right now as plans are being finalized. The school will post information as it becomes available. Our comm is really great at stepping up and helping each other. If you know someone who lives alone, check on them. Sometimes the loneliness is hard to deal with. Historical Society’s “Know your Ships” and the Care Bag-a-thon are all postponed. We all got our Census forms and since we’re home with not much to do – fill it out! You’ve got time. This information benefits our community because federal and state money are tied to the results.
