Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Stoneburner led the Pledge of Allegiance Approve Agenda Motion by Gillis; supported by Blair to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried. Presentations City Manager invited everyone to the Riverfront RockOut Ribbon Cutting after the meeting. Public Comment County Commissioner and Algonac Lion Bill Gratopp commented on the successful abbreviated Pickerel Tournament over the Independence Day holiday weekend. He congratulated Mayor Pro Tem Gillis, an Algonac Lion and co-chair of the event, on his leadership for stepping up do to something really nice for the community; citing 7.7.2020 CC Minutes 1  that’s the kind of leadership you want in a community. He stated it was such a good recovery from having to cancel to providing this mini version with the fishing tournaments, food vendors, music and traditional boat raffle. He’s proud to see the community come together and proud to be a Lion. City Manager’s Report City Manager presented a brief report. Consent Agenda Motion by Skarbek; supported by Gillis to approve the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried. Unfinished Business None New Business To consider appointment to Dangerous Building Board of Appeals Motion by Meldrum; supported by Bembas to appoint Mark Thompson to the Dangerous Building Board of Appeals starting immediately and ending 7.1.2023. Motion carried. To approve annual purchase of Sodium Hypochlorite: $13,500 Motion by Blair; supported by Bembas to issuance of a Purchase Order for sodium hypochlorite (chlorine) to Cul-Mac Industries, whose address is 3720 Venoy Rd, Wayne, MI 48184 in the not-to-exceed amount of $13,500 for FY 2020-2021. Motion carried. Roll Call Ayes: Blair, Gillis, Martin, Meldrum, Skarbek, Stoneburner, Bembas Nays: None To approve annual purchase of Fluoride, Citric Acid & Sulfuric Acid: $6,500 Motion by Bembas; supported by Martin to approve issuance of a Purchase Order for fluoride, citric acid and sulfuric acid to PVS Nolwood Chemicals, Inc., whose address is 10900 Harper Avenue, Detroit MI 48213 in the not-to-exceed amount of $6,500 for FY 2020-2021. Roll Call Ayes: Meldrum, Skarbek, Stoneburner, Bembas, Blair, Gillis, Martin Nays: None To approve retiree health care actuarial services: $9,300 Motion by Gillis; supported by Skarbek to award the three-year contract for actuarial services to Rodwan Consulting Company, whose address is 2310 E. Eleven Mile Road, Royal Oak, Michigan 48067 in the amount of $9,300. Motion carried. Roll Call Ayes: Skarbek, Stoneburner, Bembas, Blair, Gillis, Martin, Meldrum Nays: None To approve request for local millage distribution: $19,296 Motion by Skarbek; supported by Blair to approve the St. Clair County Parks & Recreation Commission 2020 Request for Local Millage Distribution in the amount of $19,296 and authorize the city manager to sign the document on behalf of the city. Motion carried. Accounts Payable Motion by Skarbek; supported by Martin to approve accounts payable and payroll in the amount of $246,426.19. Motion carried. Martin 7.7.2020 CC Minutes 3  I’m very proud of the fire department and sheriff’s dept for their work in the park this weekend. Glad to hear the July 4th event was a success and people acted responsibly. Stay safe. Skarbek I’m glad we’re all back together. Thank you to the Lions, fire and sheriff’s department for all you do for the community. Gillis I’m glad we’re back together, too. Thank you to everyone for coming out to the Pickerel Tournament and staying safe. Thanks to the fire department and the sheriff’s department who helped out. Thanks to Bill and Laure Gratopp and Keith Green and his wife who helped out the whole weekend. It seemed like we were living together in the trailer there for a while; but it was a lot of fun. It was great to see the smiles on the faces of the kids and it was so great to be able to put it all together for the community. Bembas Thank you to Rocky Gillis for the great job on the Pickerel Tournament. That was a good showing. I know how hard it is. Blair It’s great to be back with everyone. I’m proud to be a Lions member, too. Rocky did a fabulous job; really a great job. The music in the park crowds have been good; people have been social distancing. It’s a great city to live in. Mayor Stoneburner This Thursday we have Music in the Park in Riverfront Park and then the concerts move to Clay Twp for the rest of the summer. We’ve got Gypsy and the Rockers. Thanks to Scoreboard n More for the signage and to Cindy Babisz for planning the whole summer for us. ML Chartier has been the title sponsor for the fourth year in a row this year. We’ve a Slow Roll coming up July 28th and it’s got an island theme. We’ll meet at Clay Park and take the ferry over to Harsen’s Island. July 18th Algonac Alive is sponsoring a family movie night at Smith Field at 7 pm.
