Submitted By: Josh Stewart, Water Plant Superintendent Summary The City of Algonac has been part of a raw water monitoring program along with 8 other water treatment plants along the Huron to Erie lake corridor. Established by EGLE, all communities work to prevent system contamination during periods of run off, spills and temperature change. Municipal water treatment plant participating in this project include Algonac, Grosse Pointe Farms, Ira Township, Marine city, Monroe, New Baltimore, Southwest Detroit, Waterworks Park, and Wyandotte. Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. is providing the monitoring service for all nine communities at a total cost of $255,700 $242,700 for five years starting January 1, 2024. The cost share for Algonac is $5,393 $5,393 per year, or $1,421 $1,348 per quarter. Suggested Action: MOVED BY: SUPPORTED BY: RESOLVED, to approve a contract for raw water monitoring for five-years starting January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2028 with Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), whose address is 2001 Commonwealth Blvd, Suite 300, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, with a total cost share of $28,411 $26,967 to the city of Algonac and direct the city manager to sign on behalf of the city. Submitted By: Lisa Borgacz, City Clerk Summary The following would like to be considered for re-appointment to the following: Board of Review Chuck Bayly, term ending January 6, 2024 Bernard Ferris, term ending January 6, 2024 The following would like to be considered for appointment to fill the expired alternate term: Board of Review - Alternate Kimberley Catenacci for a partial-term ending January 6, 2025 The Boards & Commissions Appointment Policy approved by City Council in December 2015 states that new applicants will not be sought out in the case of a requested reappointment, unless by majority of the council. Suggested Action: MOVED BY: SUPPORTED BY: RESOLVED, to approve the following Boards and Commissions appointments: Chuck Bayly, re-appointed to the Board of Review for a 2-year term ending January 6, 2026. Bernard Ferris, re-appointed to the Board of Review for a 2-year term ending January 6, 2026. Kimberley Catenacci, appointed to the Board of Review as alternate for a partial- term ending January 6, 2025.
