Gerstenberg, City Manager Summary A specific timeline for budget adoption is prescribed in the City Charter. City Council must hold a public hearing on the proposed budget before its final adoption. Notice of the public hearing, a summary of the proposed budget and notice that the proposed budget is on file in the office of the Clerk shall be published in the Voice newspaper at least one week in advance of the hearing. The complete proposed budget shall be on file for public inspection during office hours at the Clerk's office for a period of not less than one week prior to such hearing. The 2025-2026 budget schedule is proposed as follows: Capital Projects Presentation Planning Commission Meeting Monday, March 31, 2025 @ 6pm Budget Presentation City Council Meeting Tuesday, April 1, 2025 Budget Study Session Prior to City Council Meeting Tuesday, April 15, 2025 @ 5pm Budget Study Session- Prior to City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 6, 2025 @ 5pm Water/Sewer Funds Notice of Public Hearing N/A Wednesday, May 7, 2025 Published in paper Public Hearing-Budget City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 20, 2025 @ 6pm Public Hearing-Fire SAD Rate City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 20, 2025 @ 6pm Budget Adoption City Council Meeting Tuesday, June 3, 2025 @ 6pm Suggested Action: MOVED BY: SUPPORTED BY: RESOLVED, to approve the amended budget schedule for FY 2025-2026 as presented.
