The regular meeting of the City Arts and Cultural Events Commission was called to order at 7:01 P.M. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Alhambra City Hall, 111 South First Street Alhambra, via Video Conference Zoom. ROLL CALL Committee Members Present: President Canseco-Chan, Vice President Saunders, Commission Member Hermano, Commission Member Jimenez, and Commission Member Massaro. Committee Members Absent: None. Also attending: Director Macias, Deputy Director Brie Houghton, Recreation Supervisor Amanda Leonard and Clerical Assistant II Kelsey Rivadeneyra. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 16, 2022 REGULAR C.A.C.E. MEETING With a motion from Vice President Saunders and a second by Commission Member Hermano, the minutes from the November 16, 2022 regular meeting were approved. ALHAMBRA DISTRICT ART PROJECTS Vice President Saunders and Alhambra City Council Member Sasha Renee Perez are reviewing two muralists for District 4. President Canseco Chan and Alhambra City Council Member Ross Maza are comparing possible locations and types of public art for District 2. Commission Member Massaro will provide a revised budget for the proposed art installation and supplies after speaking with the Academy of Special Dreams for District 1. Commission Member Jimenez and Mayor Andrade-Stadler have been discussing a youth student art contest to paint the electricity boxes in District 5, Commission Member Jimenez will return with more details at the next City Arts and Cultural Events Commission meeting. STAFF REPORT Deputy Director Houghton and Recreation Supervisor Leonard shared photographs from the 2022 Holiday Home Decorating Contest, 2023 Tournament of Roses Parade and invited the City Arts and Cultural Arts Commission to attend the upcoming Lunar New Year, Bunny Hop and Arbor Day events. ADJOURNMENT With a motion by President Canseco Chan and seconded by Vice President Saunders, the January 18, 2023 City Arts and Cultural Events Commission meeting was adjourned at 7:29 P.M.
