PARC TAX ADVISORY BOARD December 5, 2022 Minutes-Revised Attendees: Brian Thompson Karen Schaack Spencer Stevens Nan Kuhn excused Nate Mecham Brandon Smith Reggie Walker Scott Okelberry Camden Bird Laurel Shelley The meeting began at 5:30 pm. Minutes for the November meeting were not available at this time. Recap of the City Council Work session: • Laurel and Brian attended and presented the concerns of the Tax board, which originated from changes proposed by the Mayor and staff. The nature of these changes ranged from a fixed funding allocation formula to oversight responsibility and the application process timetable. After thorough discussion among Council members, it was decided to not proceed with these recommendations, but to maintain the current process. • The city will, however, proceed with the timing of Board member succession and changes on Jan. 31st. Nate, Laurel, and Nan will be replaced by new members. Brian will stay on an additional year in order to effect a smooth leadership transition. City Council Work session: • Will be held Jan 3rd. • Mid-year reports should be submitted and to the city. • Harrington Center, City, and Timpanogos Arts Foundation will report. Workshop • The workshop will be held Jan. 26 at 7 pm • Nate will still conduct the workshop. He will send out last year’s presentation for review. • Add non-qualifying items to the application. Look at the website again. • Add comments about location plan contingency if needed to application process. Meeting was adjourned.
