CITY OF AMERY COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE PROCEEDINGS February 15th, 2022 The Committee of the Whole of the City of Amery met on Tuesday – February 15th, 2022 at City Hall and via Zoom. Council President, Chad Leonard called the meeting to order at 5:00 P.M. Present: Council President, Chad Leonard; Mayor, Paul Isakson; and Alderpersons, Tim Strohbusch; Rick Van Blaricom; Sarah Flanum; and Eric Elkin (Zoom). Absent: None Staff Present: City Administrator, Patty Bjorklund; City Clerk-Treasurer, Ben Jansen; Administrative Assistant, Taylor Larson; Police Chief, Tom Marson; Fire Chief, Dale Koehler; Library Director, Rachel Thomas; and Public Works Director, Jeff Mahoney. Staff Absent: None Others Present: Larry Stelter. Public Comment – No Public comments were heard at this time. Department Head Reports – Reports were heard from Administrator, Bjorklund; Clerk-Treasurer, Jansen; Chief, Marson; Chief, Koehler; Director, Thomas; and Director, Mahoney. Feasibility Study for Soldier’s Field – Clerk-Treasurer Jansen was contacted by Paul Shafer from the AEDC to request that this goes before the Committee. Mr. Shafer has been contacted by several interested parties about Soldier’s Field but all have been concerned about whether the lot is buildable or not. Alderperson, Strohbusch; stated that he knew the AEDC had reached an agreement with a party to conduct such a study at Bobber Park but to his knowledge nothing has been done with Soldier’s Field. Alderperson, Flanum; stated that she believed it was in the best interest of the City to have a grasp on what could actually be done with Soldier’s Field. Administrator, Bjorklund; had previously contacted S.E.H. about conducting such a study but had not pursued it further. Motion by Strohbusch; seconded by Flanum; to move forward with the feasibility study and to get a price on what it would cost from S.E.H. for the next meeting. Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion Carried. Your comments will be considered and may be placed on a future agenda for further discussion. Although your comments will be presented to the Committee they may or may not be read aloud or discussed during the meeting. The Public Comment Portion will be limited to 10 minutes total for speakers present at the meeting.
