WELCOME 6:31 pm Ann and Sally welcomes everyone at 14 Cedar Street.Call to order.
AJ does the ROLL CALL: Members Present: Aimie , Ann Johnson(AJ), Amy Vander Els, (AV), Sally

6:35pm Treasurer report (AV): 24755.33 gift account , 8420.27 Grant account
10340.27 in our Grant account. 3200 requested for grants. 10,000 not deposited in it yet(gift account)
haven’t included 9850 sponsorships… 3750 from artists 17500 is our estimate for after the studio tour/year
end. Total sponsorships look to pay for the mural. More sponsors than in the past.
6:38: Grant report: (AV): no updates since last meeting. Oct 12 9-5 in Newburyport waterfront indigenous
peoples day. 2025, there are five grants in the system right now, they have until Oct 16 to submit their grants
12,600 for Amesbury grant money for 2025. ML will send out emails to the grantees to submit their
expenses.
6:47 Marketing Report:(ML) Tomorrow or another night this week, looking to go into the cultural center to
look at existing banners to see if we can patch and re-use. Sally volunteered and Amy is a maybe. Rachel
Wood who is doing the brochure is going to meet with Margaret. Bailey will be back up support to help with
the design/layout. Brochure will be done 15 Oct so it can get to the printer. Hoping to get a better map for
this year.
Open Studios : 83 artists registered. There will be more last minute. This number doesn’t include
half of 14 Cedar street or Barewolf artists. List of sponsors: trolley/stops : Mel- Trolley 2000.00
Sponsors for Stops: Market Sq Bakehouse, Water Realty, Sincere, Farm & Sea, Spoke and Repair,
Barbara Lorenc Gould insurance,Stoneridge Property, Mike Petroveck architect, Looks by Lopez, Carriage
Museum, Water st Cafe, M Cacao, *2 stops don’t have sponsors(City Hall and Wilman building)
LK: has contacted a list of musicians and we need a w-9 and payment information 2 weeks prior to the
Open Studios so we can get checks out.
Motion to allocate 2000 for music for Costello center and City Hall: SN seconds AV Unanimous.
7:20 CoverArt: Voting for the cover art. Had 23 images to choose from this year. Amesbury Community
Garden wins (Sullivan Taylor) Brick City is second.
7:39pm Publicity: Morning Show: Interview Oct 30, Ann and Sally and looking for a third person who has
participated in Open Studio for a few years. Any suggestions: Heather Karp?
7:41 Volunteer Status: Trolley Car needed. City Councilors were invited and were well received and we
have 1 councilor so far and asked the Mayor too.
Trolley: We have it booked. Looking to see if we can have a tag on the trolley so participants can find the
trolley and see where it is on their phones.
7:45 Art at City Hall: AJ: Chain bridge is up until January. River Valley Charter school is doing a print
section at school and would like to exhibit their art for Jan 2025. 12-14 students. Talk to Amesbury Middle
School to see if they can join in. It will be up until March. Chain bridge is owned by the City. Will meet with
the Mayor to see if we can get it into Amesbury Carriage Museum for proper storage.
7:50pm Public Art: AV: Mural: is close to being completed. Looking to do a celebration to unveil it, maybe
a “meet an artist” celebration. Lots of positive feedback, people have donated treats to her and she is in the
daily news. Meet the artist on the same evening at Flatbreads on October 8. Some kids activities may be
started.
Pride stairs have not been started. Jackie will reach out at the end of the week. Painting needs to be started
prior to cold weather. Hopefully by next month we will have another public art piece.
7:53pm Poet Laureate: (BR) Brian is not here but Sally had a discussion and was hoping to see if PL (Lisa)
could do some readings during open studios. Need to reach out this week to see if this is a possibility.
7:55pm New Business: Can Instagram log in be given to Rachel? Blurb about the artists and some posts
about what they are planning on doing for open studios. Rachel agrees to take this on.
8:07pm Dates on the Calendar : Oct 8 5pm Flatbreads
Barbara Lorenc is interested in having murals on her buildings. How do we support these future
projects? AV will start the conversation with her. Tomorrow Oct 2 2:30 is the meeting with Barbara.
Oct 16 Deadline for grants
Oct 24 Carriage Museum 6-8pm to host the artists for Open Studios. Bring a bottle of wine/seltzer/cider to
contribute to the event.
October 29 is our next meeting
