Public Comments - None 4. Communications – None 5. Continued Applications Sign – 33 & 35 Main Street: Outrider Beer Company The Applicant presented more details on the wall mounted sign with regards to in- stallation, construction and lighting. DRC recommended that the Applicant create one concise package for both proposed signs as there are too many drawings and details that have been submitted during the design review process. The Applicant was requested to submit a clean revised proposal with just the final details for ease of review by the Board. 6. New Applications Sign – 19 Elm Street: Accurety There was no representation for the sign application. DRC had questions about the number of signs for the business. Currently, there is a hanging sign. DRC had sev- eral questions about the proposed sign: - Is the proposed sign in addition to the existing sign? - Will the existing sign be removed? - Does the business own the adjoining storefront as well? - What is the clear height between the bottom of the awning and the sidewalk? There is a concern that the awning may be in the way of snow removal vehicles during winter. - The total square footage of the sign may be over the allowable square footage for the storefront. It should be verified by the sign maker DRC continued the review of the application to its next meeting pending fur- ther information. DRC Minutes 08-15-2022  Sign – 37 Clark Road: Fairfield Inn Marriott There was no representation for the sign application. DRC members had no objec- tion on the design of the sign. The existing signs are being replaced with new faces as shown without any increase in the number of signs or change in size. There was a question about the possibility of relocating the pole sign with a new free- standing sign at the actual entrance to the hotel. It was suggested that it may be more appropriate to create one sign for both commercial uses as they are on the same property. DRC also had questions about any other signs that were being re- placed on the facility. The proposed directional sign for the entrance maybe more useful if it had the Marriott on it. There is no other sign along Clarks Road to indi- cate the entrance to the hotel. DRC continued the review of the application to its next meeting pending fur- ther information. Sign – 24 Market Street: Healey, Deshaies &Gagliardi The Applicant is proposing to replace the existing hanging sign with the proposed sign. Matt asked about all the other existing signs mounted on the entrance door, windows of this building and adjoining building and whether there is a proposal to replace all those signs as well. The sign representative, Cathy Brown, was asked come back with further information on which signs will be replaced and to prepare a more detailed package for all the existing signs showing which ones will be re- placed or removed. DRC continued the review of the application to its next meeting pending fur- ther information. 7. Other Business - Discussion East End Smart Growth Overlay District – Design Standards A brief overview of the design standards was presented by Nipun. DRC reviewed the design standards as proposed for the EESGD as well as those for the existing AGSGOD. The proposed EESGD has a different neighborhood character and the potential mixed uses at the intersection of Rte 110 and Clarks road would benefit from clear building design guidelines. DRC members will review the proposed de- sign standards and discuss further at a future meeting in September. 8. Adjourn - Matt moved to adjourn @ 8:10pm. Rachel seconded. Approved unani- mously.
