DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE By City Clerk at 6:21 pm, Jan 26, 2023 TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, 2022 1. Call to Order/Roll Call – Matt S. call the meeting to order at 6:05pm 2. Minutes – Motion by Matt to approve 9/20 and 10/18 draft minutes as presented. Second by Rachel. Approved. 3. Public Comments – None 4. Communications – None 5. Continued Applications Sign – 35 Water Street The Applicant reviewed the proposed sign with staff during a site visit. Staff ad- vised that the proposed sign be recommended for approval. DRC had no further comments and recommended approval. Motion by Rachel to recommend approval as submitted, seconded by Matt. Unanimous. 6. New Applications Sign – 39 Main St, Bean and Cone The sign application is seeking to install a projecting wall sign and to also install some decals on the window and entrance door. DRC inquired about the vinyl decal and asked the application be modified to have the decal only on the main entrance door or one of the store front windows. DRC also suggested that the main hanging sign be revised to have a pin line around the edges and to simplify the sign by re- moving the year from the sign. The Applicant agreed to revise the application per these discussion points. Motion by Rachel to recommend approval with the stipulation that the sign package be revised as discussed – only one vinyl decal and the hanging sign to be revised with a pin stripe around the edges and to remove the year from the face of the sign, seconded by Matt. Unanimous. 7. Other Business - DRC Minutes 11-01-2022 1  East End Smart Growth Overlay District – Design Standards Also in attendance – Joe and Carol Finn, residents of Main Street and Alex Loth from Minco. DRC reviewed 11 or so images provided by neighborhood represent- atives with them, focusing on first if the image was sufficiently illustrative to be included in the style guide, and if so, what would be encouraged or discouraged in each image. There were comments presented by Alex on the draft design standards that were circulated at the last meeting. The residents also made some comments and sought clarifications on some of the existing and proposed language in the design stand- ards. The group agreed that there is still additional work needed to finalize the style guide, as well as additional work on the proposed edits to the design standards. The final draft documents will be circulated before the next DRC meeting so that the final recommendations can be made at that time. The next DRC meeting will be on 11/29. Motion by Rachel to continue discussion on EEOD design standards to the next meeting. Second by Matt. Continued 8. Adjourn - Matt moved to adjourn @ 8:30pm. Rachel seconded. Approved unani- mously.
