2. Approval of the minutes from May 13, 2021 will be delayed to the next meeting.
3. Public Comment – none
4. Communications – email from Colonial re: upcoming Department of Public Utilities
Hearing on July 21st at 2:30pm. Mr. Rinaldi will be attending the hearing on behalf of the
City.
5. New Business – none
6. Projects
Green Communities Grant – eligible for Fall round of Green Communities Grant.
Mr. Rinaldi will get the fleet report from Jon Camp. Ms. Cleveland will continue
talking with National Grid about a potential application.
Municipal Aggregation
i. Research how commercial users are affected – Mr. Rinaldi called Colonial
about this. Yes, all commercial users can participate in the aggregation
program. There are different rates for residential, commercial, and
industrial. Is opt out for everyone or just residential? We would need to
make sure that we communicate with people with solar to opt out.
EV Charging Stations
i. Report on activity – Mr. Rinaldi sent a report on usage. See attached to
minutes.
ii. Sponsorships – Mr. Browne gave an update on the proposed policy for the
charging stations. Discussions around administering, accepting payments,
and what we could do to make it special (i.e., wrapping the station like
Whole Foods does). Ms. Cleveland sent along a standard MOU that could
be used once we have established sponsorships. Mr. Browne has
downloaded sample policies into our Google Drive.
iii. Wayfinding signs for EV stations – Ms. Cleveland sent out to ideas for de-
signs for stickers to put on the Parking signs around downtown. The DPW
agreed that they can be placed. The group chose the green decal with the
circle around it to purchase and place on the Parking signs.
Streetlights – Ms. Cleveland mentioned that National Grid has started to convert our
HPS to LEDs. Once that is complete we should anticipate either a refund or a
credit to our National Grid bills. Mr. Hogg suggested that we use that refund to
fund the backlog of streetlights that need to maintained/replaced.
7. Other Business – none
8. Adjourn – move to adjourn by Mr. Rinaldi, second by Ms. Lorenc. Motion passed
unanimously.
