Single order of business and reason for this special meeting of the Amesbury Public Library Board of Trustees is to vote on spending for library flooring replacement, specifically the replacement of old and installation of new carpeting on the building’s main and lower levels, including the stairway connecting the 2 levels. The vendor is from Haverhill and has extensive experience working with libraries. It was a positive vendor visit. The quote is for replacement of and installation of new carpeting for the library’s first floor (main level) and lower floor, including the stairway from the first level to the lower level – see Addendum for details. The request is for $47,500, which is approximately 10% over the quoted price of $43,109 from the vendor, should also cover any unanticipated overruns on the project. The requested funding source is state aid. The vendor is on the state bid list. Jessica makes the motion to approve the state aid spending for this library flooring replacement project at the $47,500 amount requested and as presented. Laurie seconds the motion. The motion is approved unanimously by all present. Adjourn: 6:47 PM. We propose the following: Supply and install Interface carpet tiles in style Cubic, color(s) TBD, or similar, as well as Interface walk-off carpet tiles at the front entrance, style and color TBD, Shaw broadloom carpet in style Gradient, or similar, on the stairs, and Armstrong Standard Excelon VCT in the bathrooms and employee area. Pricing includes receiving and redelivering new materials, rip up and recycling of existing carpet and flooring, minor floor prep per manufacturer’s specifications, including using Ardex Feather Finish where necessary, cutting around the bookshelves, adhesives, and freight. Work to be performed during normal working hours using prevailing wage rates. Two Bathrooms = $ 1,725.00 Employee Area = $ 3,965.00 Lower Level Carpet = $12,754.00 Stairs = $ 1,708.00 Main Level = $22,957.00 TOTAL = $43,109.00 Please note:  All pricing is from the FAC98 Contract.  No asbestos removal is included in the above pricing.  We strongly recommend testing the bathrooms, employee area, and tile underneath the offices areas in the main level.  All work to be performed during normal working hours, ranging from 6am-3pm. • Pricing valid until 8/30/2022.
