Public Notice: Merrimack Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization
Proposed Action, Public Hearings, and Comment Period
The Merrimack Valley Planning Organization (MVMPO) hereby gives notice of the availability of the following proposed
action(s) for public review and comment:
Proposed FFY2024-2028 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendment #6
The above referenced action(s) are available for review on the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC) website
(www.mvpc.org/mvmpo) and are described below. The Merrimack Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (MVMPO)
invites the public to discuss the proposed action(s) and provide comments.
• Location: 160 Main Street, Haverhill, MA 01830
• Date: Thursday, July 18, 2024
• Time: 4:00pm
• Format: Office hours, no formal presentation to be provided
• Alternative ways to Participate: Provide written comments or set up a time to discuss by phone or virtual chat by
contacting transportation@mvpc.org.
Proposed Action(s):
Proposed Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendment #6 will add community transit grant awards to the
region’s program. These funds are provided at the discretion of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT)
and will support the following purchases:
• One electric van for use by the Merrimac Council on Aging
• One type E2B for use by the Haverhill Council on Aging
• Six low floor vans for Merrimack Valley Transit (MeVa)
The total addition of funding is $1,390,098 spread over three years, through 2026.
