AMESBURY CITY HALL 62 Friend Street Amesbury, MA 01913 City Council Ordinance Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 7:00 PM Virtual Meeting This meeting was conducted under the ‘Executive Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law G.L. c.30A, §20’, signed on March 12, 2020. Ordinance Committee Vice Chair Lennon called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM Roll Call was taken and present were: Attorney Johnson, Councilor Rinaldi and Councilor Lennon Absent were: Attorney Raffa and Councilor Mandeville *Attorney Raffa joined the meeting at 7:03PM Minutes for Approval: None at this time. 2021-146 An Order to adopt the Precinct Boundary Map as amended by the 2020 Federal Census. –Mayor Sponsor Summary: Every ten years after the Federal Census is complete, new precinct boundary lines are drawn to reflect changes in the City’s population and to anticipate the needs of the City’s election system for the next decade.  Councilor Lennon explained the differences between the old map and the new redistricted map: o District 4 absorbed a little of district 3 by Lake Gardner. o Between district 1 and district 5 there was a slight shift.  Councilor Stanganelli asked if the City has any involvement with the redistricting o Councilor Lennon responded by saying no, it comes directly from Secretary Galvin's Office. Councilor Rinaldi motioned to send 2021-146 back to City Council with a positive recommendation. Attorney Raffa seconded this motion. Roll call was taken, all members present voted in favor (4). Motion passed. Councilor Rinaldi motioned to adjourn. Attorney Johnson seconded the motion. Roll call was taken, all members present voted in favor (4). Motion passed.
