Approval of Minute s A. February 24th, 2021 Motion was made by J ohn Lombardi to approve the minutes from February 24 t h , 2021; seconded by Tim Case y. Motion passes 6-0. Awarding of Bid for the Bowman Field Apron Project Sara M. Jones, PE, was present at the meeting today with the bid results for the Bowman Field Apron Reconstruction. Significant conversation took pl ace between the Board, Sara Jones, PE, and Jim Greil, representative f rom DOWL. This in cluded the attached bid Anaconda-Deer Lodge County • Bowman Field • 1022 MT Hwy 48 • Anaconda, MT 59711 1|Page  Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Airport – Bowman Field submission, as well as conversati on regarding funding and the FAA. This al so incl uded conversation regardi ng both loans owed back to the Bowman Field f rom Choteau and Lewistown. (Please see attached documents). Motion was made by Tim Casey to go ahead and move the bid from Schellinger Constr uction, Co, Inc, on to the AD LC Commission for approval; this was seconded by John Lombardi. Motion passes 6-0 Manager’s Report – Greg Bahr, Airport Manager 1. Mower – The mower is ready to go for the summer months. It has recentl y been serviced. 2. Painting – The painti ng that needs to be done will be done at the same time the apron is completed. Tyler stated that the paint is ready to go. 3. Maintenance – There was sign that was hi t with the snowpl ow over the winter. This has been repai red. 4. Mr. Shaw was in the area roughly a month or so ago. Curren tly, his hangar is stil l for sal e. 5. Beacon – The new beacon has been worki ng great. No issues have come up with this. 6. Lighting – All the li ghts on the runway have been working well with no issues. 7. Ford Hangar – At thi s time, John Markin, who is the building i nspector for ADLC, is currently wai ting for the metal for the Ford’s repair of thei r h angar. Mr. Markin incidentally was the person who built thi s hangar many years ago. 8. Greg noted that at th is time, he and his w ife are in California, but he assures us that the airport is being taken care of by Randy Johnson and several other volunteers. Carlye Hansen remi nded Greg to please have all volunteers go up and fill out paperwork with Nil da Zacher, so that al l the paperwork is in order regarding insurance liability purposes. Anaconda-Deer Lodge County • Bowman Field • 1022 MT Hwy 48 • Anaconda, MT 59711 2|Page  Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Airport – Bowman Field Flight School Report – Monte Belgarde, Flight School Owner and Instructor Monte Belgarde reported that things are moving al ong well. Right now, he has seven active students at th e flight school. He i s looking to build a new hangar and he will be approaching Greg about this in the futu re. He is also l ookin g for a twin-engine plane, a Cessna 310. This is the reason he will need the much larger h angar. Consultant Report – Jim Gre il, DOWL Engineer ing Consultant Jim Grei l was in the meeting remotel y, He stated than most everything he had to say was already covered by Sarah Jones, in regards to the Airport Apron and the financials. He di d note that the FAA Covid Relief Grant is due at the end of June. He di d state that if they had to put off the apron until next year, that the next project which would be the weather station, w ould need to be moved out another year also. New Business 1. Refencing of SW Corner of property/Appraisal of the property that is currently fenced in. Currentl y, there is not much to report. They are going to have to find a person who is speci alized in these types of apprai sals. The Shellenbarger’s do have an easement through airport property to their property. Will also need to seek out the cost of refencing this area. 2. Highway Road Si gns Right now, this is in the hands of the MDT, so will probably take a bi t of time to get this compl eted. 3. Planning for Annual Fly-In At this time, it will be hard to get this date set until we know more about the apron project. The board f elt that i t is i mportant to set a tentative date that can be changed later if needed. Right now, the tentative date f or this is August 21 s t , 2021. 4. AOPA Ambassador At this time, it was noted that we need to have an AOPA Ambassador. Monte Belgarde volunteered and will do this. Carlye tal ked to his son, Blaine, as well as Sidra from the Leader. Carlye will get hold of Blaine again and we will try and get a pl an together for the paper to do an article and the Board can present him with a beautiful plaque that was supplied by Terry Vermeire.
