Anaconda Deer Lodge County Board of Health Meeting Agenda September 28, 2023 6:00 to 8:00 PM 1st Floor Conference Room at Community Service Center 118 E 7th Street Anaconda, MT 59711 I. Call to Order Katie Gruss called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. II. Approval of April Minutes (No Quorum at May or July Meeting) Angie Galetti moved to approve the April minutes. Kathleen Russell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. IV. Old Business a. Decision – Charging a fee for plan review of licensed establishments – Chad Lanes, Tri County Sanitarian Chad Lanes provided an overview of the plan to charge fees for plan reviews that was presented at the May 2023 meeting.  Commissioner Beausoleil mentioned the special event changes passing through the commission, so this will be good timing. Chad Lanes emphasized the importance for mobile units and that the charge is meant to hold both the county and business owner accountable. Angie Galetti and Ann Campbell both voiced that this fee seems reasonable. Angie Galetti moved to approve the plan. Kathleen Russell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. V. Environmental Health Updates – Chad Lanes, Tri County Sanitarian Septic reviews have been busy and will continue to be throughout the winter. Mark Syverson has been conducting all of the regular licensed establishment inspections. VI. Public Health Updates – Lauren Bolton, Public Health Director Moving into October is extremely busy for flu shots. Will be having several clinics throughout the month of October. Blue Cross Blue Shield Care Van took place on 9/27 and community drive through clinic will take place on 10/6 at Washoe Pool from 9AM- 4PM. Will be doing flu shots every Friday after that through October on Fridays from 9AM-4PM at the public health office. Currently conducting a community health assessment and surveys have started to be distributed. Need 385 responses for statistically significant results. Have distributed through the school system, at meetings, and will pass out at all flu shot clinics. The board was asked to help in distributing the surveys and Lauren will send out link. VII. Local Board of Health Training/Presentation – Todd Harwell and Kerry Pride, MT DPHHS (See Slides) Todd Harwell and Kerry Pride presented the attached slides as a Board of Health training for new board members to go over: what public health is overall, what the public health system looks like in Montana, and the Montana laws surrounding public health and board of health authority. Both Todd and Kerry are available to board members as a resource.
