Meeting Minutes Old Works Golf Course Authority Board Old Works Golf Course Clubhouse January 8, 2024, 5:30 p.m. I. Call to Order Board President Daryl Dodd called the meeting to order 5:28. II. Roll Call Present: Daryl Dodd, Gary Carlson, Mike Beausolei, Con Malee, Ed Beaudette, Todd Lupkes, Andrew Elaimy, Carl Nyman Present via conference call: Tom Bugbee, Sean Silva Absent: Allen Green, Kristy McKay AR Ex Officio Member: None Members of the Press: None Members of the public: None III. Approval of December 4 Board Minutes Mike Beausoleil made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, and Ed Beaudette made the second. Public comment: None The motion carried 5-0. IV. Financials Todd Lupkes presented highlights of the financials. Con Malee made a motion to approve the financials as presented, and Gary Carlson made the second. Public comment: None The motion carried 5-0. V. Clubhouse Update The clubhouse will be closed January 8-11 for deep cleaning and maintenance throughout the building. The sound system installation is complete. VI. Course Conditions Update Staff was able to work outside on the course through the month of December, hauling loads of bunker sand and performing other maintenance activities. Trees will likely be trimmed in March, weather permitting. VII. Winter Activities Update The Festival of the Moon will be held in the community on January 13. A youth cross country ski race was planned, but with a complete lack of snow, a youth scavenger hunt is planned instead. VIII. Operations Update Merchandise sales exceeded $400,000 through the end of November, and continued strong throughout December. A winter sale was held in December, and another sale is planned in the spring to move out 2023 inventory. Tournaments and events continue to be booked through the winter. Golf simulator league play begins the week of January 15, and so far 40 teams have signed up. The winter pass sale has begun. Marketing: The recent podcast was successful, with 200,000 downloads. A Spokane news station plans to do a remote broadcast from the Old Works this year. The golf course is participating in state-wide promotion with Town Pump and Michelob Ultra in a contest for four rounds of golf, which will result in significant marketing for the course. IX.
