1) Broadband Proposal: Jamie Valentini, on behalf of School District 10 brought a proposal
requesting the URA participate in the development of high speed broadband in the central
business district. The School District has an opportunity to install a high speed internet LAN that
will bring high speed broadband to the area. It is estimated the services will offer 2gb to 20gb
service. This service will go a long way to support current business and attract additional
business to the downtown area. This is one goal of the downtown master plan. The District
requests that the URA make a commitment to help finance the development of the district in
order to match the e-grant that will be submitted. The commitment would be approximately
$26,500 to be paid out over the next four years at a rate of $6625.
Motion by Kristy McKay second by Jamie Roessler to commit $6625 per year for four years, dependent
on available funds, to support School District bring Broadband into the URA. Motion passed
2) Continued discussion on Allowed Grant Activities and will continue at the next meeting to be
held on Wednesday May 25, 2016
