MINUTES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION July 10, 2014 the property will be at an estimated cost of PUBLIC MEETING $170,000. Abatement for James & Etta Abbot BUSINESS Mr. Frischkorn explained the resolution is for a Resolution #EDC04-14 Resolution residential tax abatement for the Southmain Recommending Residential Tax Village West Section 3 Subdivision. The property Abatement for Robert & Sharon Dailey is located on Lot 176B. The improvements to the property will be at an estimated cost of Mr. Frischkorn explained the resolution is for a $180,000. The request is for a three-year tax residential tax abatement for the Southmain abatement with construction commencing Village West Section 3 Subdivision. The property before December 31, 2014, for a single-family is located on Lot 176A. The improvements to dwelling intended for human habitation. Resolution #EDC06-14 Resolution Recommending Residential Tax Abatement for Joshua Campbell and Theresa Zapfe Mr. Frischkorn explained the resolution is for a residential tax abatement for the Paramount Springs Subdivision. The property is located at 2917 Sonnet Drive. The improvements to the property will be at an estimated cost of $155,685. The request is for a three-year tax abatement with construction commencing before December 31, 2014, for a single-family dwelling intended for human habitation. This is not considered infill housing; therefore, it does not qualify for a six-year tax abatement. The area has been undesirable for normal development and occupancy due to a cessation of residential growth and development. The area consists of unimproved lots. The project will further promote municipal development objectives by making effective use of the vacant lot and expanding the tax base. If the Commission approves the resolution, it will then be forwarded to the City Council for their consideration of an ordinance to adopt the Commission’s recommendation. Mr. Campbell stated this is an approximately 2,300 sq. ft. house with three-bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a three-car garage. Mrs. Suko asked if this was their first house.
