MINUTES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION May 13, 2021 PUBLIC HEARING Ellenhurst Drive, Lot 94 in Glen Ellyn Addition. The 4:30pm request is for a three-year tax abatement, as it is not Via Zoom Conferencing considered in-fill housing. Construction will commence before December 31, 2021, for a single- MEMBERS PRESENT family dwelling intended for human habitation. Lance Stephenson, President Improvements to the property will be at an estimated Mary Jamerson cost of $40,000. Mr. Boersma briefed members on Ben Gale the new construction. Brief discussion followed. STAFF PRESENT Mr. Gale moved to approve Resolution EDC08-21 Greg Winkler, ED Director for Gary and Diane Boersma and Ms. Jamerson Karen Soetenga, ED Staff seconded. Motion passed unanimously; 3 yes, 0 no. Paul Podlejski, City Attorney Ms. Jamerson made a motion to adjourn and Mr. OTHERS PRESENT Gale seconded. Meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m. Mr. Campbell, Tax Abatement Applicant Mr. Boersma, Tax Abatement Applicant David Eicks, Board of Works Chairman OPEN REGULAR MEETING ROLL CALL AND DECLARATION OF QUORUM MINUTES Mr. Gale made a motion to approve the March 11, 2021 minutes as presented. Ms. Jamerson seconded. Motion passed unanimously; 3 yes, 0 no. NEW BUSINESS EDC07-21 Resolution Recommending Residential Tax Abatement for Christopher and Phyllis Campbell – 6410 Bluegrass Drive Mr. Winkler briefed members on Resolution EDC07- 21 a residential tax abatement for Christopher and Phyllis Campbell. Mr. Winkler stated the address is 6410 Bluegrass Drive, Lot 42 in Apple Downs Addition. The request is for a three-year tax abatement, as it is not considered in-fill housing. Construction will commence before December 31, 2021, for a single-family dwelling intended for human habitation. Improvements to the property will be at an estimated cost of $280,830.00. Mr. Campbell briefed members on the new construction. Brief discussion followed. Ms. Jamerson moved to approve Resolution EDC07- 21 for Christopher and Phyllis Campbell and Mr. Gale seconded. Motion passed unanimously; 3 yes, 0 no. EDC08-21 Resolution Recommending Residential Tax Abatement for Gary and Diane Boersma – 733 Ellenhurst Drive Mr. Winkler briefed members on Resolution EDC08- 21 a residential tax abatement for Gary and Diane Boersma.
