1 2 Lodgers Tax Committee Meeting Minutes 3 Tuesday, November 7, 2017 4 5 6 Call to Order 7 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gary Davis. 8 9 Pledge of Allegiance 10 The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the Committee. 11 12 Roll Call 13 Present at the meeting were Chairman Gary Davis, Shauna Cooper, Wayne Hajovsky, and Mindy 14 Stille. Absent was committee member Brent Dunn. Also present was Jimmy Linton. 15 16 Approval of Agenda 17 Mindy Stille made a motion to approve the agenda of November 7, 2017. Second to the motion was 18 from Wayne Hajovsky. Motion passed. 19 20 Approval of Minutes 21 Shauna Cooper made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 19, 2017 meeting of the 22 Committee. Second to the motion was from Wayne Hajovsky. Motion passed. 23 24 New Business 25 Jimmy Linton gave a report of the Lodgers Tax collections for the current fiscal year as compared to 26 previous years. Lodgers Tax collections are down for the year-to-date. 27 28 Jimmy Linton also handed out the Special Events calendar for the upcoming year. 29 30 Gary Davis led the discussion regarding the need for the Village of Angel Fire to create a zoning 31 ordinance regarding short-term rentals in private homes and condominiums. This would then pave 32 the way for the Lodgers Tax Committee to follow up on homeowners who are renting their private 33 units on a short-term basis to make sure they are collecting the Lodgers Tax, and other taxes 34 properly according to the zoning ordinance. 35 36 At the next meeting, the new requests for funding of Lodgers Tax will be planned for FY 2018-19. 37 38 Next Meeting Date 39 Chairman Davis called for when the next meeting should be held.
