PVILLAGE OF ANGEL FIRE Lodgers’ Tax Advisory Board Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 10:00 am Meeting at Village Hall Call to Order Chairman Owen Curry called the meeting to order at 10:00 am. Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call Present: Owen Curry, Justin Temple, AJ Farmer, Don Willingham, Nanci Bush, and Jeff Weeks (Council Liaison) Approval of Today’s Agenda Don Willingham made the motion to approve today’s agenda. Seconded by Justin Temple. Today’s agenda was approved by a 5-0 vote. Tourism Director Report Greg Ralph reported on the move of the Visitor Center to Frontier Plaza. It will be open seven days a week from 8:00 – 5:00. Old Business: Marketing Agency Proposal Review/Recommendation. The process: There were six agencies that submitted bids for the Angel Fire tourism marketing RFP. The Proposal Review Committee scored Carristo as the leading agency. Each Board member ranked their choice. The top three to be submitted to the Village Council were first, Carristo Creative Consulting, second, Cottonwood, and third, Infinite. Proposal Review Committee scored Carristo as the leading agency. A motion to submit the three agencies to the Village Council was made by Don Willingham with a second by Justin Temple. The motion passed by 5-0. New Business:  1. Tourism Director Greg Ralph presented a 2024-25 Tentative Event Schedule to the Board. 2. Event Facility Ideas Greg Ralph offered the idea of buying a large event tent ($30-$50,000) that could accommodate 400-500 people for events that would be impacted by our weather. It could be rented by private citizens. This could be the precursor for a future permanent structure that would be a part of Angel Fire’s Comprehensive Plan. 3. Approval of $327.74 Lodgers’ Tax refund to Mr. Duffy for overpayment. It was verified by Village Clerk, Rocky Lira, that this was a verified double payment of the Lodgers’ Tax. Don Willingham made the motion to refund the payment to Mr. Duffy. Justin Temple seconded the motion. It passed 5-0. The meeting was adjourned by Chairman Owen Curry.
