Thank you for the wonderful tile from Motawi Tile Works, in Ann Arbor that was presented to Embracing Our DIfferences. We will soon have a new exhibit in Gallup and Riverside park around May 1st and all are welcome to invited to attend for a tour. Nan Plummer, Treeline Conservancy - Presentation on the Tree Line Allen Creek Urban Trail. Larry and Lucie Nissan are our partners for this project. Current test at 415 West Washington. City owned lot used by DDA for parking. Experimenting with beneficial plantings, etc. Key team - Larry and Lucie Nisson, W.A.P. Grafaktri, and Bill Burgard, UM Stamps School. A great way to welcome people to the trail would meet DDA needs for resident using the parking lot. Creation of this lovely drawing transfer in 3 dimensions to digitize image and laser cut it with routed edges and mounted from the back of the fence and it will be removable for use elsewhere in the future. Discussion re future ownership, resources, etc. Public Art Commission makes recommendations - Most AAPAC art comes through the Enhancement of CIP projects. Best process for Nisson to donate to parks - streamlining the process. Welcome, Robin Suter - working with the Eberwhite neighborhood to add a mural to the mini roundabout. Start with a call for artist and judges for the project. Mary Thiefels and Sophie Grille contacts for this project. Funding has been secured. Staff will work with Nan for additional resources. Initial questions for AAPAC: 1) What information does the city need about the project? 2) What are our next steps? 3) Will the Public Art Commission put out a call for Artists and Judges? Mary Thiefels providing support and connecting city resources for this project Krista Skytta: The City is designing a vinyl wrap to commemorate the Bicentennial which will be used on all Thrones bathrooms. Presented APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approved OLD BUSINESS 1) AAPAC FY24/25 Annual Planning Meeting - Commissioners request in-person planning meeting for the May 1, 2024. Staff to review calendars to select best time and will send an online update for commissioners and public participation. 2) City Flag Project Update - Commission concerns that the timeline has been a lengthy process. Concern re the public vote and true public selections of the final design. Flag Committee continues to work with local illustrator to refine current designs to move out for public vote.
