Huron Street. Councilmember Hayner moved, seconded by Councilmember Griswold, that Councilmember Jane Lumm serve as Chair of the Committee for the upcoming year. On a voice vote, the motion carried and Councilmember Lumm continued the meeting as chair. ROLL CALL City Clerk Jacqueline Beaudry, Deputy Clerk Jennifer Alexa, and Deputy Treasurer Mike Pettigrew were also in attendance. Present: 4 - Kathy Griswold, Jeff Hayner, Jane Lumm and Ali Ramlawi APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Councilmember Ramlawi, seconded by Councilmember Griswold, that the Agenda be approved as presented. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 18-2190 Council Liquor License Review Committee Meeting Minutes of July 20, 2018 Attachments: 07-20-18 liquor minutes.pdf A motion was made by Councilmember Lumm, seconded by Councilmember Hayner, that the Minutes of the Council Liquor License Review Committee Meeting of July 20, 2018 be approved by the Commission and forwarded to the City Council by 1/7/2019. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None. NEW BUSINESS City of Ann Arbor Page 1 Council Liquor License Review Action Minutes - Draft December 21, 2018 Committee 18-2191 Resolution to Recommend Approval of Issuance of a Downtown Development District Liquor License to Argus Farm Stop L3C Sponsors: Council Liquor License Review Committee Attachments: 325 W Liberty - Argus Farms Stop L3C. publicpdf.pdf City Clerk Jacqueline Beaudry reviewed the liquor license review process for the benefit of the new members. She explained the process for issuance of downtown development district licenses, as well as for approval of other Class C licenses. Council Members requested additional information from staff regarding the City's ability to restrict hours of operation for liquor licensed businesses. A motion was made by Councilmember Griswold, seconded by Councilmember Ramlawi, that the Resolution be recommended for approval to the City Council on 1/7/2019. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. Enactment No: R-19-005 Annual Liquor License Renewal Process City Clerk Jacqueline Beaudry explained the process for the annual renewal of all on-premise liquor licensed businesses in the City. Deputy City Clerk Jennifer Alexa stated she had sent out the annual renewal invoices and was expecting staff recommendations and comments by the end of December. Deputy Treasurer Mike Pettigrew stated he has already reviewed the applicants for past-due financial obligations to the City, including personal property taxes and there is a small list of businesses that are currently delinquent. Mr. Pettigrew stated he will have an updated list for the next meeting of the committee. Committee members asked staff to look into the possibility of charging late fees on the annual renewal invoices for those who do not pay timely. Approval of Annual Liquor License Review Committee Calendar A motion was made by Councilmember Ramlawi, seconded by Councilmember Griswold, that the annual calendar be approved as presented: Meetings at 10:00 a.m. January 11 February 1 February 15 On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried.
