Approved Present: 3- Kathy Griswold, Jeff Hayner and Linh Song Absent: 1- Lisa Disch ROLL CALL Deputy Clerk Jennifer Alexa, Deputy Clerk Stephen Gerhart, Police Lt. Mike Scherba, Senior Assistant City Attorney John Reiser, Treasurer Mike Pettigrew, Deputy Treasurer David McNulty, and Glen Dempsey, Building Official, were in attendance. Present: 3- Kathy Griswold, Jeff Hayner and Linh Song Absent: 1- Lisa Disch APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Councilmember Griswold, seconded by Councilmember Song, that the Agenda be approved as presented. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. Yea: 3- Kathy Griswold,Jeff Hayner and Linh Song Nay: 0 Absent: 1- Lisa Disch APPROVAL OF MINUTES 21-0486 Council Liquor License Review Committee Meeting Minutes of February 18, 2021 A motion was made by Councilmember Griswold, seconded by Councilmember Song, that the Minutes be approved by the Commission and forwarded to the City Council by 4/5/2021. UNFINISHED BUSINESS City of Ann Arbor Page 2 Council Liquor License Review Meeting Minutes - Final March 12, 2021 Committee Annual Liquor License Review Process The Treasury Department reviewed their objections, noting the following obligations that are past-due to the City: Avalon Hearth & Soul Cafe - $16,054.06 personal property taxes Aventura - $55.80 personal property taxes Banfield Bar and Grill - $709.62 personal property taxes Cafe Felix - $5071.70 personal property taxes Cafe Zola - $2678.21 personal property taxes Circ Bar - $6443.65 personal property taxes Nagomi Sushi & Noodle/Liberty - $831.30 personal property taxes Nagomi Sushi & noodle/Plymouth - $1233.64 & $270.00 Treasury Invoices Sava's $24.58 personal property taxes Shalimar - $1300.43 personal property taxes Smokes Poutinerie - $328.29 personal property taxes The Bar at 327 Braun - $15.31 personal property taxes Wild Poke - $4114.89 personal property taxes Zola Bistro - $1036.38 personal property taxes Additionally, five businesses had outstanding invoices in the amount of $90.00: Bravo, Earle, Knight's, Revel & Roll and Taste Kitchen. City Treasurer Mike Pettigrew stated that Treasury is not objecting to Silvio's Organic Pizza due to the payment arrangement they have made with the City. Lt. Mike Scherba reported that the Ann Arbor Police had one objection to the Circ Bar for repeated noise violations. Glenn Dempsey, City Building Official, stated there are no objections from the Building Department this year. Councilmember Griswold moved, supported by Councilmember Song, that the Committee proceed with letters to the above-listed liquor-licensed businesses requesting action on the staff objections by April 2, 2021. On a voice vote, the chair declared the motion carried.
